Still holding during this freak-out (always hold stocks longer than 1-year), but will admit the scope of this sell-off is aggressive. Fwiw, I had shares of Telaria (MGNI pre merger) at like $8 for each and watched it merge with Rubicon and saw a 20%-30% decline before the run up.

Could be a rotation to cheaper stocks amid rising rates (although I’d argue a 50-bp increase from historic lows isn’t crazy). But know this hurts for many. Fwiw, I still think the long term story is intact for all these names and will continue to hold and are more likely to add more on drops than to sell.

Well, they acquired SpotX today (or announced) which has ttm revs of $116m itself.

The combined company (pro-forma Magnite and SpotX) would have CTV revs at approximately 70% of revenue and just from current Magnite that’s growing 53% per year.

These are platform businesses that connect buyers to sellers, so the margins are high and the cost per incremental customer is nil, so they’re easier to grow into high P/S ratios.

Plus, the thing about valuations is they tend to dismiss the future opportunity. I think streaming and CTV will eventually replace large bundle cable, so a lot of ad spend is going to be gushing through those pipes.

If you’re a strict valuation guy there are tons of value stocks like Altria and AT&T (FD: I own both in my income portfolio), so maybe this isn’t a pick for you. No worries from me either way, I get it.

Sorry D6, but I have nothing here aside from lazy pedestrian observations. I like the business model of coinbase but would have to review the S1. Historically IPOs underperform (so I tend to stay clear) but the ones who don’t tend to really outperform.

That said, I think the coin space is going to face a bunch of competition and I’m not sure the barriers to entry are that huge for a pure-play crypto exchange. If I had to play crypto supporting stocks rn, why not just take Square or PayPal though? You have a fintech payment processor with the upside with the possible long-term driver of crypto. Again, that’s just my pedestrian opinion – if you have other thoughts I’d be interested.
