Bounce from the team. Not your problem to fix. Life is too short to deal with stress that’s not your doing.

East Asian immigrants - Indians ??

funny

A3 - TC1 doesn’t have a point. If they did, they would have made a sensible comment. I doubt that they even understood the overall topic.

You put the Taiwanese, Hong Kongers, Filipinos and maybe even the Vietnamese in the equation, that’ll really make things interesting.

What are the different cultures?

All you need to know is that all problems here are arbitrary problems that only emerged in the past 15 decades or so. Since the problem emerged in a non-natural fashion, it means that no one can do anything about it. In a nutshell, there are 2 main sources of disagreements: 1. US’s stance, narrative, and alliance 2. The debate of “if I learned something, can I claim the ownership of that original thing and all its variants?” This is not a uniquely EA problem, though.

A1 Japan and China went to war in the Tang Dynasty (~1500 years ago), Yuan Dynasty (~800 years ago) and Ming Dynasty (~350 years ago). And they all involved Korea one way or another. 😂

Teams which are diverse enough, regardless of where diversity comes from (geographic, cultural, race, gender, age, education, etc...) will always have conflicts. It is nothing new and you have to deal with it rather than run away. May be dealing with it on your own at your level is not possible, but as SM1 said- focus on your work and how it is impacting your deliverable. If the conflict is hurting the deliverables and your reviews then flag it to the top and let the process work. Otherwise, try not to get into nonsense/politics/or whatever they are fighting over and just do your work. To give you some context, I manage a group of skilled professionals from all over the world and the US, but most of the conflicts come from two of my bosses who are Americans because they cannot agree on anything due to their different pre-EY career. We should not label conflicts just to regional or cultural diversity. It can come from anywhere and you just have to do your part and see the bright side and not run away from it. If you run away from this team (if you like they work/client), then it is a bad idea because there will be another conflict in another team... may not look like this. But it will be there.

Examples?

Can you still deliver your work? What’s your dynamic with the person who will be writing your review? How long is the project? You may be able to make it through keeping your head down. If you can’t then look for a chance to bolt. You will not be able to fix this dynamic.
