New graduate PA in pediatric primary care reaching yearly review wanting to engage in asking for a raise as I didn't negotiate initially. Base pay 45/hr but seeing 20+ patients a day in a fast paced clinic. Best strategies to engage in the conversation.

Try seeing what your colleagues' productivity is and go over it. Unfortunately, in most cases, hospitals consider your years of experience. Tell your director what you want your potential salary to be and ask what metrics you need to achieve to make it happen.

How long have you been a PA and how long have you had this position?

So you are making about $16 a patient? i’m going to bet they are remunerated closer to 100 per patient. I would be asking for at least 25% of what they are remunerated at.

Apply elsewhere and see what they offer and ask current employer to beat or match.

This has been happening..RN shortage = nurses now often making same and sometimes more than NP, in particular in pediatrics. NPs with bigger hospitals or who begin a position with a few years experience can and do get 50-55/hour but it’s difficult as a new grad or with only a year of experience, in particular in primary care peds. I completely agree with the above post about getting a sold offer elsewhere, then going to your current employer to ask for a salary adjustment to match and stay!

How long have you been working? So many hospitals and clinics are understaffed. There is indeed a shortage of medical health workers. I think it's about time that you get a raise. You deserve it.

Apply elsewhere, see what they are offering. If your current company won’t at least match that. Then leave and work for the new company.

You would get paid much more on a productivity model with how many patients you are seeing a day. I know WA pays much more than most states. But our pediatric PAs make at least 150k per year.

Yikes, I'm a health educator and I make $48/hr. You may need to look somewhere else for work.

Hello amazing people!

I have been a start up tech company for almost 6 months. We do quarterly review and my next review is October 31st. I am an EA to CEO, COO two partners and now CRO.
I told them I would update my JD for our next review with new tasks which I did. I am planning on asking for a raise because I am doing a lot more than what was on my JD. I am currently at 65k and I would like to ask for hybrid and 80k. What do y’all think?

I am coming to the conclusion that saying you won't raise your kids in any one religion and let your kids decide when they're older is simply a means of punting on dealing with coming from competing faith traditions (because you fundamentally cannot mix the two religions) in your own interfaith marriage at present. It's just pure conflict avoidance strategy in one's own marriage rather than a decision on how children will be raised.

Am I right or wrong? Discuss...
