New hire here 🙋🏼‍♀️ - tech folks, if you were to start specializing in Oracle vs SAP, which one would you pick and why? What are the skills picked up from working with one transfer to the other?

All these answer are dumb, especially coming from some of the titles I see. Just pick one man, and become an expert implementation methodology and the business processes. Be able to talk to what cloud, big data, automation mean fundamentally. And understand the business processes. You can jump from vendor to vendor. If you just become and expert in config for one vendors tool you will just be another annoying consultant that is disposable after time.

Neither - Workday is the future for HCM/FINS and SalesForce for CRM. Source: I’ve worked for both Oracle and SAP.

It might be the lack of customization that makes Workday a healthy long term solution.

At Deloitte? SAP for sure - S/4HANA is one of the firm's global priorities. Gonna have TONS of work before we hit 2025.

Agreed C1. I work in SAP. If OP has the option to chose any platform I recommend salesforce. If she is stuck between choosing SAP vs Oracle, then choose SAP

Add ons do not make salesforce an erp system. Capabilities are completely different.

If you look at Gardner’s magic quadrant Workday financials is neck and neck with Oracle now.
