Life event being you took a new job with the firm. You can enroll for health insurance now. Don’t need to wait until October.

I need y’all to amp me up. I’ve had a kick ass year with a handful of awesome accomplishments. I am expecting a promotion in April and have never negotiated a raise. I’ve been with Weber for quite some time so I know I’m underpaid, but I also really love my role so I’m not looking to move right now (I also just had a baby and I don’t think my mental health could take another massive change!). I don’t expect to catch up, but negotiating extra will show I respect myself! Pump me up please! 🙌🙌🙌

Anyone else close to birth and only staying because of the maternity benefits? I'm drowning and so overwhelmed and overworked but keep going knowing it's temporary as I can't go back to this lifestyle after leave. The people I work with know I'm pregnant and going out soon but no one seems to truly care. I feel stuck in a suck it up it's almost over situation. Short of burning some PTO I don't feel like I have a lot of options to scale back, especially with our 4 weeks of leave pre birth

Apologies if this is a silly question - New analyst here and trying to get a handle on my finances and retirement portfolio. I’m familiar with the rough sequence of saving being: 3-6 months HYSA, Company match 401k, Roth IRA, HSA, 401k max, personal brokerage (Pls correct me if i’m incorrect here). My question is: Are you expected to invest as much money as you can into each step before proceeding to the next, or do you allocate a portion of your paycheck to each of these steps simultaneously?

Best tech strat/planning departments? (or creative agency unicorns that have solid pay and balance?) I can’t take it anymore — horribly underpaid and overworked, sick of the holding company bullshit, mental health is suffering. I don’t want to give up on strategy but I can’t keep waiting around for my company (and the agency world) to change. Where do I go ?

Interested in your opinions. Last year I took a government job. Before I was working as an independent consultant and netting more - obviously without pension and benefits though. (Lost work due to pandemic.) With extra medical expenses this year (outside of government insurance) I realize I’m simply not making enough money to do what I want and need to to (medical + travel + investing). Everyone tells me to stay for security and WLB.

You are told that you have exactly two years to live from today; you will be in good health for that entire time. Are you happy with your life choices to date? What would you stop, and what would you start? (These questions are usually “one day” or “six months”, but that feels implausible and forced.)

They want to know my 1099 rate and salary requirements if full-time employee. Would $75 hourly and $110K be within range? They are in Philadelphia. I have been working in the Chicago, San Fran, and NYC markets mostly.
