It's always been a dream of mine to work at Google, specifically as a UX designer (currently transitioning into UX from visual design). I've been so afraid to apply to any jobs with UX title, Google or not, because I'm always doubting myself and telling myself I'm still under-qualified.
UX designers & hiring managers, what are the skills a designer must have to be "qualified" for a UX position? Keywords on resume? Certifications? Thank you all in advance!

Hi IBM sharks 🦈
So I got interviewed for a project by the IBM team. The interviewer told me that its a go ahead from their end, now the client will assess my profile and if they too are fine with it, I will be onboarded?
Is it true that we have client interview as well? If yes then after how many days of interview by IBM team, client interview takes place?
Or its just that if the IBM team is fine with it, we are selected for the project?
Any inputs on this will really help :)
Hi all,
I just came to realise Deutsche Bank has a fixed rule of max 30 to 35 % hike on fixed component and remaining 10 to 15% variable i.e. total 50% max hike you can ask for no matter how good, skilled you are.
Is it true?
(I got to know this when an HR called me for a Frontend developer role)

Santa Monica or Pacific Palisades since you can afford it. You can go from the beach to the mountains in 15 mins, and they are safer/cleaner due to independent city councils and police (LAPD is not great). Also weather rarely gets outside of 65-80°F highs. Can you tell I love it here?
Culver City is another decent option just not as scenic. If you need to live closer to downtown, Pasadena is gorgeous but gets hot as hell.
Also fun fact : something like 50% of apartments on the westside do not have A/C, so do not assume a listing has it unless explicitly stated.
Great tips. Thank you!
LA is fine. Much safer than Atlanta any day.
Just don’t be dumb about being flashing your expensive stuff / use common sense / like in any other city. That’s great money . Take it
After living in both cities I wouldn’t say LA is much safer lol. That being said I’ve never felt particularly unsafe in either place
Can y’all adopt me. 🥺 jk jk
It’s not that scary. It really depends where you want to spend most of your time and were you plan to work. Marina del Rey, Culver City, Santa Monica, but not Venice. Pasadena is pretty sleepy and safe. Just don’t do downtown LA.

Where is your wife’s job in LA and are you able to wfh completely? That plays a huge role in determining where to live.
Check out The Palazzo (East and West). They’re gated buildings right between The Grove and LACMA. I have several friends that live there.
Can you stay in OC and commute for a while till you find the place you like? One of my neighbors drives from Costa Mesa to the train in Santa Ana to DTLA. It’s doable 3-4 days/wk. there are lots of nice areas to choose from. If she’s at EY it’s right at the station I think
I have considered it… it’s just not quite downtown to make it reasonable
How much is you combined income now?
It's more a question of how much you save vs. how much you make. Evaluate that against your financial goals.
