New mom here. My LO is 3 months old and I'm back at work. Has anyone tried any of those "hands-free" pumps like Willow or Elvie? They're like $500 and insurance doesn't cover them. Are they worth it?

I exclusively pumped with my first using the medela freestyle and really loved it. It was small with a rechargeable battery so I could even pump in the car on my commute. Anything hands free is worth the investment depending on your ultimate goal

I recommend joining the willow and elvie unofficial Facebook groups to see what you’re up against. And lookup honest reviews.

like

I’ve heard good things about the Elvie primarily around the fact that you don’t have to use one time use bags like the Willow. It’s my understanding the Willow is more powerful. I exclusively pumped with my first and if I have a second I will definitely invest in one of these. Having the freedom to move about while pumping (even the battery powered ones are a pain) is priceless.

You can buy any pump (I loved my Modela) and get a hands free bra. They work awesome and allow your hands to free up for multitasking while pumping.

Are they noisy? Can I be on a conference call with them?

Medela is noisy. People would ask me what’s that noise in the background. Lol
But I would definitely look up willow. I wish I had willow when my babies were nursing

Anyone here have experience in building an influencer program? I prefer to label them as brand ambassadors, but either way…I’m in the health care space, we are looking to engage & leverage health care prof voices to partner on content & product dev. Largely, the goal is to further grow our social presence. I’ve said a few times that it’s most beneficial to have research & a plan from that research. It seems we are starting out w/just asking influencers to contact us. Which fine, but then what? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have a somewhat unsteady, gappy work history due to several health issues — serious ones — that have gotten in the way since I passed the bar. My first major health issue I can easily explain as it’s physical, a major concussion. My other health issues are severe depression that affected my ability to work steadily. I am better finally, and ready to get back to work, but I don’t know how to explain this or even approach this during interviews/resume writing.

Anyone have any helpful advice?

16 weeks and so worried all of the stress I’m under is going to hurt the baby. Between work, my own scary (non-pregnancy) health stuff, the pandemic, my mom (who is a widow and lives alone, basically isolated by choice due to covid) is having health issues, and pressures to keep billable hours up, I’ve been having complete breakdowns. Today I spent almost the entire day crying and now have to make up the billable time this weekend. I really worry abt what effect this will have on the babe.

Hi all, I study finance while working full time. I'm in tech sales at a healthcare startup. There are two conferences coming up in the same week, one in my hometown on the 4th and another in my new city on the 7th which I am confirmed for.

Would I be stretching myself too thin to volunteer for both? Or is that a good career leverage tool?

Maybe some perspective might be of use to me. I’m transitioning out of the service and I’ve positioned myself decently to be competitive in the market. I’ve got two offers from great companies. Biotech and Healthcare, both on the Human Capital Team as an Employee Relations Consultant. I have a graduate degree pursuing a Doctorate, LSSBB, ScrumMaster, SPHR, and PMI-ACP certified. I know this is personal and dependent, but what should I be considering as a commensurate salary?

Need advice on the transition to FDD one day. Will be promoted to senior in 2 weeks (in risk advisory and have CPA). I already feel a huge disadvantage trying to go Risk > FDD (as opposed to typical Audit > FDD).

Should I stick it out in risk until deals start hiring again? I think there's some value in being a Big 4 CPA compared to an industry senior analyst. But the work in risk doesn't help me develop towards FDD at all... transfer got delayed 3 times until covid, so I'm down to switch firms
