Risk consulting 🐠, what do you think about the FRM certification? For those that have it, has it helped you on project work and do clients look at it favorably?
has anyone worked in an internal tax role at PWC? if so did you like it? is it better than client facing? manager level appreciated
A goal of mine is to leave my PA firm (one of the big 4) this year. Currently in my fourth busy season. Do you think I should wait until getting promoted to senior and leave right after, or leave after this spring busy season? I am not super eager to get a senior position because with Covid and the inevitable learning curve, I don’t feel equipped to accept one. So I was thinking of applying for entry positions. Any advice?
Would military conscription be a plus for MBA apps? In a country where serving the military is compulsory for males. For what it’s worth, was in an intelligence unit doing open source work
Anyone transition from being an Executive Assistant into an HR role? How did you go about it?
Hi, I have more than 5+ years of experience in Performance Testing and engineering. I do not want to continue in tech. Want to switch to management. So planning to do a PMP course. Really confused about the consequences after the course, whether I'll be able to successfully get a management role or not. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions for me? Any guidance is appreciated.
If you left from Big 4 to a senior analyst position in industry, what do you miss if anything? Trying to convince myself to make the jump and never look back.

Thoughts on Technical Account Manager role at Qualtrics? Is it a good role with exit opportunities? Decent path to Product at all?
Does look, body type, age, appearance play a role in climbing corporates ladders? Say, will a early 30s, handsome fit man have an advantage over a late 50s, chubby and unattractive man? Assuming both are at the same level.
I need some support and smiles...I’m being laid off for May. I know everyone’s going through this, it’s just I was in this same position last year...it just feels like I can’t catch a break. 😔
Need some career advice: Been in PA for 8+years and looking for a change. Do not want any financial reporting or technical accounting role. Not interested in becoming an IA either. Not sure how many options I still have then…
If I don’t get my green card this year (after being in US for 12 years) should I just move to Canada? What are the prospects? I have been wanting to get an MBA. Should I just go there to study? I am mid 30s with a kid so there will be some adjustments. Anyone did this?
Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!
Has anyone used a competing offer for a higher level role on the same team at a different company to push to a pay increase or title bump? How did you bring it up to your manager and how did it go?
What ECs have you found that have best rounded out your profile? I’m struggling to find something where I can give back to the community while also displaying leadership qualities. I want to give back regardless, but trying to find something where I can immediately drive impact / lead instead of just cleaning, manning a table, etc. has been tough with limited work experience
Kearney vs Strategy&? Same level and comp.
I’m at the airport, exactly 1 year after my previous flight. People are mobbing the gate even though their group has not been called yet. Actually I don’t think boarding has even started. Nature is healing
Folks - what’s your 1) Total Comp vs Net Worth, and 2) age. Curious about individuals’ saving and investment practice. I’m 180k TC vs 750k NW, age 33
I’m burnt out. Biglaw six years and got pushed out. Now at a midsize firm. I work more than I used to and getting paid 1/3 less. Work is not bad at all and the firm culture is great. I never wanted to become a lawyer to start with but now I’m stuck here. If I switch to a completely new profession, I would have to start over. My hubby’s financials are not great and I feel I’m obligated to stay at my firm job to make it work. I really don’t know what to do...
What should I wear for an interview to lateral into big law as a woman? My current practice is very casual and I rarely dress even in business casual clothes. Go for bright colored blouse with suit jacket and pants? Skirt a must? Stay classic with black and white? Heels or flat shoes? Do I need to do my nails? Hair curled/put back? Not sure how much this all matters beyond generally dressing up.
I cannot stress the importance of having a good line manager. Mine is weak and always asks what I’m interested in and then doesn’t bother supporting me in exploring those areas or connect me to the right people. They haven’t been promoted in years which is a red flag - I’ve subsequently watched my juniors get promoted above me. Get someone who will fight your corner.
Okay… all kidding aside, is there anything positive about KPMG? The internet and social media makes fun of them. My leadership makes fun of them. Other big 4 friends make fun of them. MBB makes fun of them. Do they do that bad of a job + have that many shady things going on?
Anyone investing in clean/forward thinking technologies as it relates to climate change? I looked into aluminum ion battery manufacturing but that’s still very speculative at this point. I have some ICLN in my portfolio. It’s not doing well in general, but I’m thinking long term here. Maybe some nuclear power?
Two years in and I'm still kind of bad at the job, which is hurting my confidence and probably making me worse at the job. I'm trying to stick it out for one more year (will be more like 6-8 months with externship), but curious how others who are mediocre at MBB have found the exit process.
Parental leave policies for your companies? Doing a comparison and I'll start. Slalom's: 8 weeks for primary caregiver (maternity leave) 1 week for non-primary (paternity leave)
How long would you wait before following up with a recruiter after a phone interview if you haven’t heard back? Everything in this process has gone so quickly until now and I don’t know whether I should reach out or not. I had a phone screen with the recruiter the day after she reached out to me and she set up my phone interview on the spot. The turnaround time has been less than 24 hours for everything but now it’s been radio silence and I’m starting to get anxious.
What can I expect for EY tech strategy Senior associate salary for experienced MBA hires for NYC, Chicago, SF loc? YoE 7 years.
Hi PwC fishes, I was trying to explore roles in pwc in the emerging technologies domain. I have background in cloud tech and blockchain. Wanted to know what is the work done by this team and if there are any openings. TIA
Are there any stock / holding restritions at PwC? Or are employees able to buy/sell equities as they please without any holding periods?
I have so much mom guilt sending my baby to daycare. She’s 6 months old. The transition has been harder on me than her (she seems fine and happy, just isn’t sleeping well there yet) but I wonder if I should try and find a different solution. Part time nanny, part time daycare? We can’t afford a nanny full time. If I’m WFH and we have a nanny part time is it realistic that I’d see her during the day or am I kidding myself?
Anyone else having the hard internal decision of returning to work in office? I LOVE my group and the people but I LOVE the flexibility of working at home - I have high billables so no commute gives me extra personal time or work time as needed. There are some firms offering a flex WFH/WFO and some fully remote positions. I am afraid I can leave and end up with an awful group/culture but also afraid for my mental health of going back to office 100% full time M-Th. Anyone else in the same boat?
