Got signed off from work a couple of weeks back due to work related stress (severe anxiety). I was the lead on a multi million pound project and the stress got to me. Firm was supportive. However, ive decided that I definitely do not want to continue working at my current firm (the stress is just not worth it) and am considering handing in my notice during my time off. Any thoughts on whether thats a step too far? Should i return to office full time before handing in my 3 month notice
Hey guys! Has anyone made the pivot from Merchandising to Project Management? I’d love to chat as it is something I am looking to do. Thanks! :)
My manager doesn’t seem to have any boundaries - always saying yes to additional unnecessary work from the client and always working through weekends/nights/PTO/holidays. They are supportive of encouraging everyone else to have a WLB but since they don’t lead by example it ends up making me feel like I’m doing something wrong or crossing a line whenever I set a boundary with them or push back on a request that doesn’t align with our goals or priorities
So the elections in Canada have become that large 600 mn consulting project where everything on the ultimate deliverable is what the client knew already.
As a staff on the consulting side, does anyone else find it awkward to join a zoom call with the client before the manager/sm joins in?
Finishing a project tomorrow and immediately getting staffed starting Monday. Haven’t taken a day off all year, and really feel like I need a day or two to rest up and reset or I’m going to burn out, hard. Is this a reasonable request, and if so, is there a tactful way to ask?
Pro tip: Never say “Pardon my french” before saying anything crass, if the client is French.
Declined a job offer with 18% raise a few weeks ago because I wasn’t ready to move companies. Starting to regret it but took a risk hoping I’ll love my next project. How will I know if I made the right decision?
Just started working with a new client, and they’ve spelled my name wrong in two successive emails. How should I handle?
My last post was taken down, so I’ll restate my question here. I found out that someone was terminated from PwC for having a foot fetish and an online presence being honest about this fetish. Do you believe that PwC acted with integrity when deciding to terminate the employee who worked two internships and three years with the company. Just want to know what PwC’s stance is on ethics and wrongful termination when it comes to obscure situations such as this one.
Happy new year! I have a new in house need for a global client looking to add a strong 4th-6th attorney for their growing Digital team. Seeking a driven attorney experienced in data privacy, AI/ML, & information security (ie GDPR). Huge growth potential in NY or Boston. Experience can be a combo of law firm and in-house. My email is email@example.com
Is it rude to suggest to a new analyst that she needs to look more professional, e.g. don’t show up with wet hair to client meetings (even if on Zoom)? FYI I’m also a female and just trying to look out for these new hires
Recruiting to join a boutique consulting firm and they want to see an example of a client deck and deliverable of mine. Unfortunately, I’m not comfortable providing what they are asking for. Should I ask push back? What should I offer in lieu of project collateral?
Has anyone else found HR timelines to be a crawl during all of this year? Top 5 bank or smaller bank, it’s totally glacial pace, it doesn’t matter. I try to normally be engaged and quick with stuff client side or internal stuff but it truly blows my mind how slow HR is on things. Like if I was to be this slow client side, I’d be fired. Does anyone have similar experiences over the past year?
Is anyone else irritated by the way firms are pretending everything is Aokay, and ones that are using this as an opportunity for more client development? For whatever reason, it’s getting on my nerves
Favorite pop punk hit from childhood that you blast through your earbuds while you brood silently about the client pissing you off
Struggling with anxiety...anyone gone to a medical professional for this? Do you just go to a primary care doc first and then get a referral?
Anyone exited to Hello Fresh? How’s the work there? Comp? Are their levels inflated? TIA

How does Deloitte corporate Amex work? Am I expected to use it for all travel? Or can I book hotels etc on personal and expense them later. If it matters, I am joining FDD practice
Has anyone taken the CSM certification recently and got Deloitte to reimburse it. Please provide with the steps. TIA
Considering leaving EY for a 300 FTE consulting firm, mainly govt sector, for a strategic talent role (non-client facing). Current Manager in a long-term product management role. Offer is 30% increase, director title, and fully remote. Concerned about jumping to a company I had never heard of prior to LinkedIn connection. Thoughts? 30% too low for this type of jump?
Is it true that McKinsey & Company professional development doesn’t get 401K match or an annual bonus? Just base salary and the profit sharing? Please confirm!
For those in big 4, how much time between accepting an offer and start date have you been able to ask for? Is a month feasible/how should one phrase it? Two weeks just doesn’t feel like enough with this heavy burnout/having to wrap up deals at old firm
I got the J&J vaccine (only one I could get back in April) and unlike the MRNA vaccines, it looks like there is very little data on how it performs against the Delta variant. Any other J&Jers out there feeling a little nervous?
My client requested me to leave the project (after been there a while) due to my nationality. What do I need to do besides making a formal documentation with my firm? (details continue)
Smallest team you’ve ever been on? Do you prefer working on larger teams or smaller ones where you may be the only person who knows what to do for a particular role?
Can someone explain why they buy EFTs over index funds? A couple years ago I switched my 401k from target date to index funds? Does it make sense to eventually switch those to EFTs? If so, what's the strategy on when to switch?
After you get your physical green card, do you have to get like a stamp on your passport as well?
