New SO- taking weekend trip to NOLA. Used my hotel points and he is trying to find ways to "make it up to me". Anyone in a similar situation have a solution?

Very nice of you. Would never let a new SO benefit from the points fountain. You have to earn that right

When I do this with friends I normally make them pay the service fee and my alcohol for the weekend

Make your SO earn beads for both of you

Make him pay for food and drinks while there.

Took two years before I offered points to my SO for a trip w/o me going along.

Have him pay a few dinners if he wants. And I don't get people saying not to waste points on the SO. You're going to be in the hotel room, too. 😒

If you're upset about that he's not really not a SO - SOs do things for each other because they want to - not like tit for tat

I hope he's taking the trip with you! Having said that, there's no need for you to squander your points away on your new SO/friends/room mates. You've earned those, use them for yourself, or when you go with with your friends who have points of their own as well. Pretty selfish for someone to be okay with you using your points for them.

If it's a trip I would've taken anyway, I don't ask the SO to split the hotel, I was gonna get it anyway. Plus, at this point I make a lot more than him. I expect that will change eventually and I hope he'll do the same for me.
