You need support staff when the time saved allows you to make more money billing than it costs to pay for the time savings. At some point you may need a partner. Or, you may need to raise the rates so you have fewer clients but earn more doing less. I don’t have a high volume practice, but 150 clients would be way too many to handle on my own. I have no idea how you do that!

I’m an older lawyer. My Secy of 14 yrs, thankfully, moved to a large firm bc she was unable to take on expanded duties. PT Paralegal of 20 yrs moved to large firm for better wages and benefits but now works too hard. Been alone for 2 yrs and need help but won’t until pandemic improves. Staff gives you grounding, more time to do real work, person to bounce stuff off. With your case load, you could really benefit. Start off PT.
