FAANG Exit to MBB?
3.5 YOE, Non-technical, 150k TC
Been at Alphabet my entire career post-undergrad. Managed to move from Google to a well-respected Bet where I’m very happy. Undergrad was a pretty general liberal arts degree and haven’t pursued grad school yet.
What would it look like (from a TC + long term career standpoint) to switch over to MBB for a year or two then go back to FAANG?

You all ended up in the same spot, which i think shows how competent you are. In the scheme of things, 3 years out of a 30+ year long career isn't really much time at all
My current project team has 1 Stanford grad, 1 Harvard, 1 Oxford, and 2 Yale; all of whom are younger than me. Then project leadership features 2 former F50 C-suite execs. I’m just a normal person who went to a decent school, but here’s the best part: NO ONE CARES AS LONG AS YOU ARE GOOD AT YOUR JOB
A lot of people get into really great schools because of the opportunities afforded to them and personal connections. You are doing just fine and, like someone else mentioned, you all ended up in the same place.
You made it to where you are *without* Oxford or Harvard associated to your name. That tells me much more about your abilities than the others.
Congratulations for getting back onto your career path, and you deserve this role every bit as much as they do!
I went to a pretty good school, and when I see others on my team in your position, I’m the one who feels like an idiot 😂 apparently I didn’t need a good school/all those student loans to end up in the same exact place… you did it the better way!
You’re there for a reason, continue to do great work! Be confident in your abilities and let them shine in your work 😁
