Survey please respond Big 4 Hi Everyone, I run an analytics website that aims to provide more transparency for college students and young working professionals into potential career paths. If you are interested in the results of the survey please email email@example.com Survey Link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc-aKT6KBcIgc9nFMBuS9_WSyabS2tSt2nL7zn0W18kzJZ6TA/viewform Thanks!
Is it too late to start CPA after I left Big 4? I didn’t do it while I was at the firm and now already 4 years after my graduation.
Can someone please tell me why KPMG is on the receiving end of every consulting meme/joke/roast? I get it’s smallest by revenue, but is there really a significant disparity in quality and or reputation within the big 4?
Thoughts you'd give to a high performer at a small firm in the suburbs considering jumping to b4 in a big (and new) city? Risky move? Chance of a lifetime?
Brand name versus type of experience. Assume experience at the brand name will be less relevant to what I want to do long-term. The “brand” in this case is not Big 4/MBB
These questions might have been asked before. How difficult is it to transition to MBB from Big 4, how different is the work culture? Are there significant hikes in compensation? And workload?
Does anyone here know who pays the most in data and analytics roles in London? Big Tech vs MBB vs Big 4 vs Industry
How is quality of life different of an MBB partner and a B4 partner. Is it really still a grind at MBB at that level? I have never seen a stressed MBB partner so not sure if it’s just a facade.
I moved from B4 to industry accounting about 5 years ago. I currently work as a corporate accounting manager at a software company. I recently hired an big 4 audit senior right out of public and I’m struggling to get him up to speed. Does anyone have an example of reasonable vs unreasonable expectations for a senior accountant moving to industry after 2-3 years at B4 audit?
Started in industry two weeks ago. No timesheets, 40 hour work weeks, and 30% more than what I was making previously. We use all B4 for everything, so it’s just managing their work and budgeting. I feel like I have hit the jackpot. Moral of the post: there is none, I just want to brag about how happy I am now 😂
Had a phone screen with BCG recruiter today. As a current Big 4 manager with a specific industry and function focus for ~7 years, when asked if I prefer Generalist or Expert track, I said I’m ok with either, because I love selling (Generalist) but I’m also very interested in continuing my existing focus (Expert). She said she can mark me down for both. What are everyone’s thoughts on not necessarily having a firm one-or-the-other answer?
Has anyone jumped from Big 4 Advisory to Tier 1 Consulting firms (e.g. MBB). Was the jump at the same, higher or lower level?
If layoffs would need to happen, how would they look like in a B4? What percentages? what levels? What criteria would they use to lay off people? What is the probability of this happening this year?
How is Big 4 client delivery experience (cyber) + credible technical skillsets/ experience viewed in Google during interviews process? Good/ bad/ null?
What’s a standard big 4 notice period - 2 weeks? I want to make sure no bridges are burned due to a short notice period.
How hard is it to go from big 4 to MBB?
Any advice for someone looking to transition into a full HR Generalist role from Recruiting. I’m currently a Campus Recruiter with about 5 years of HR experience (Coordinator- Higher Ed). I received my PHR certification in September 2020 and sitting for my SHRM-CP in two weeks. I’m having a hard time transitioning into a full Generalist position.
If you put a $ salary figure on the application, but during interviews you realize you sold yourself short, are you cut from asking for higher?
I have to leave tomorrow morning for a biz trip and my 3 year old just asked, “Daddy can I go to San Francisco with you?” 💔 How do you work/life balance THAT?
Feeling like my firm has a very outdated parental leave policy (and none of the women partners have children)! What is the parental leave policy at your firm? Please include: (1) size of firm; (2) location of firm (city, state); (3) how many paid weeks off from firm (not state/fed benefits); (4) other policies such as ramp up/down time, etc.
Please, don’t call us visa holders ‘resident aliens’ anymore. Call us ‘extra-terrestrial residents’, thank you.
Why are we giving intern offers to sophomores?!
Applied for a salaried role, passed all interviews and now recruiter is asking me if I’m open to that role as a contractor instead of the original salaried. What are somethings I should ask the recruiter to include in offer letter in terms of comp if they are not going to offer me benefits? Any other pointers?
Opinions? Management now requiring everyone to have 45 billable hrs per week, not including mandatory concepting n pitch work. Most people participating in 2-3 initiatives at same time. Is this normal
What’s the wlb/culture at firms outside MBB/Big 4? Been at Deloitte for a couple years and am ready for something different. Thinking OW, LEK, Kearney, or others you know of.
Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
working for the US firm but left to stay in canada during COVID wfh – I know it’s technically not allowed, but are there legal ramifications if I’m here for awhile? (OPT visa)
Thoughts on Wilson Sonsini LA office? Interested in retooling from m&a. Anything about culture, the work, people?
I got an offer from IBM and EY GDS with same salary package. I am confused as which company to join. I am looking for good work life balance.
Anyone from Wells Fargo willing you refer me for a AI consultant position? Solid performance at deloitte
Deloitte had an impact on me and several colleagues that they laid off #impactday #impactwhatmatters
On may 10th we get official communication on our promotion. When would we get to know our compensation percentages?
Just quit my job without another one lined up. However, the months of misery and mental abuse by my project wasn’t worth it. Although the future is uncertain and I have a limited amount of funds, my mind is at ease, and no amount of money can buy my mental peace.
