I would recommend going to a smaller town (Winnipeg, Saskatchewan or New Foundland). It’s tough to get a job in an already crowded market (Toronto, Montreal, Calgary or Vancouver). The first hurdle you need to cross is Canadian experience. Once you have some experience, come back to Toronto and try for a job in the financial sector. Also, try to register with some local agencies. I was in Toronto about 10 years ago and was affiliated with one of the local firms for creating a social impact. The name of the firm was COSTI Immigrant Services. I was providing them with resume, interview tips to new immigrants and consulting tips. Your first goal should be to get on a payroll quickly.

...Finding it really hard to find a job in Toronto. Even at banks. Have tried all possible ways to chat and interact with people in Consulting on Linkedin. No idea why even Indians don’t respond. I feel really depressed. People from all ethnic minority groups help their people, but Indians on LinkedIn don’t even respond. I would love to get into consulting. I have really good background and understanding of Finance and Marketing principles. I was heavily involved in Strategy at Credit Suisse and was promoted to a Key Account Manager at Goldman Sachs within 6 months. I know my strengths, I am a client focused person, with a strong basis in strategy. And, I also speak French. Would love to interact with anyone who could help or who just wants to connect.

Good luck. Keep applying. You should try a different city too e.g. if you're in Toronto maybe try Vancouver
