I have an offer and want to negotiate

1. London base salary but I have to absorb all the expenses (train + stay)
I am thinking to negotiate to

2. home base salary and have my expenses paid for

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

Need info about Bangalore Metro. How is the availability? What is it about the purple line? Do we need metro card? Is it crowded a lot?

Truly can not focus on not thinking about hbs decisions

I am a first year associate and was asked to come up with 3-5 goals for the upcoming year. I have no idea how to set goals, however, given my work stream seems to be at the whims of our assignment coordinator. Do any more seasoned litigators have suggestions for tangible things I should try and work towards this year?

So I get that in a corporate set up, you are supposed to be sharp and witty and think on your feet. Trouble is, I am extremely slow with comebacks. (Think Ross in Friends/Amy in B99) at the crunch moment, I generally end up not being able to give a good roast back. Unfortunately the best of them come to me like a few hours later (dinner/shower/TV) and I am left ruing and amazing opportunity to have gotten one back. I am awful at jibes and roasts.

M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.

I currently work as an APM at a FAANG company but recently received an offer to join an MBB. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB. I have worked on studies where we make recommendations that anybody with a basic scientific/engineering knowledge will say “yea, no f-ing sh*t. We want to do that too. Can you single out a company that you can confidently say pays very well and also has good wlb and also has good opportunities etc.?
