New to US health care/insurance. What's the cheaper way to re-examine/x-ray a recovering bone fracture (not an emergency)? I have a high deductible, heard ER is not the way to go.

Ditto, go see a "normal" doctor first (like a general practitioner). That should help keep costs down. Also, your insurance company may have a website to help you find the best cost provider for the service you want.

See a doctor (primary, sports medicine, etc.) that can either do the X-rays in office or write you a prescription for them. If you get a prescription then go to an office that just does X-rays with it. It would be a few hundred (without any insurance discount) compared to thousands in the ER.

Always start with your Primary Care Physician - a generalist of sorts who assess the situation and refer you to specialists as needed. Don't go to the ER unless it's a life threatening emergency. There's also the option of Immediate Care if you need to see a doctor, it's not life threatening, but also can't wait for the next available appointment. Here's how I rank the three in reducing order of severity: Emergency Room (ER) --> Immediate Care --> Regular Doctor. Also, since you're new to this: make sure any of the above you select are considered "in network" for your insurance provider

Hi everyone. I’m looking for new work actually. Currently working but I’m looking for more opportunities as my current role is a contract one. My experience lies within data science, data analysis, public health analysis, consulting, financial reporting, analysis & planning and project management. I’d appreciate if anyone could connect with me or help me out 🙂

My close friend has failed the bar for a second time. This comes as a true shock for them. I know they have a very close family support system that’s local/ they are in good hands for mental health. They have not reached out, at what point do I? (It’s only been a day) / how can I support them?

What are peoples opinions on work from home? It seems to be an unpopular opinion but as a junior I despise it. I work 3 feet from my bed, I find the barriers of a phone/email between me and a senior to add a huge amount of stress to my life and I think it’s stunting my career development at my firm because I can’t build relationships as effectively. I’ve never at all had mental health issues before but now am really starting to feel burnt out and anxious most of the time. What do you think?

Is it normal for a Partner to tell me “you know this will delay your promotion by 6 months” a day before my STD for mental health reasons? (P.S. He assumed I took the leave for mental health reasons although I never mentioned that to him). He also said “people like you leave and never come back so make sure you talk to your sponsors before making any decision, there are people who are excited to work with you”.. the conversation is on replay in my head
