I'm a PharmD graduate about to start at ZS as an AC in a few months. I'm really excited but also super nervous. As a 1st gen immigrant female, the consulting world is very new to me. I started out at a community college and just slowly worked my way up to pharmacy school. I'm afraid that I don't belong in this professional environment. I would love to hear any tips or advice (or better yet, anyone willing to mentor?) on how to succeed and navigate the corporate world. Thank you.

How do you deal with staff that don’t follow instructions? This is my 2nd project & I find that when I give specific instructions it’s not followed thoroughly or done sloppy. I’ve done walk-throughs, provided feedback etc. I’ve even pulled in management to deal with it. I’m starting to feel like they don’t respect me

Anyone have any insight/thoughts on the culture at Google for black employees? Leaving consulting because of the culture and had a black recruiter from Google reach out. 1st generation college graduate and want to make sure I’m financially literate.

Ringing that bell tomorrow. No hate to my firm, but we have a kid during covid and it’s hard to work two jobs and be a daycare provider. Plus, no job makes me as whole as being a father.

Old employer arranged a WFH contract deal where my contract is on par with my current pay. Have to pay both sides of FICA taxes, but I control my time and know I can be there for my wife and kid when needed. Keep grindin’ y’all! ✌🏽

I am first generation, my parents are immigrants from Africa, I identify and share/empathize with all of the experiences my Black brothers and sisters in America have.
