I recently started a new sales position, and I know I’m making a lower commission rate than my male counterparts. Could be that I’m new, and they decided to lower it and not because I’m a female. My direct manager is trying to adjust it because we were both told 1% and when my commission started I was at .8%. Any advice would help, I never signed anything that had a commission rate on it. But I’m pretty sure our base as a company has always been 1%.

I’ll go first : 1) I hate it when they always play down the effort needed for some work (even when doing it super fast / McKinsey speed) and ask for unrealistic deadlines. 2) This second grade citizen mentality at the Firm is really insufferable. It’s often insulting and unbecoming.

Rant : Video called my MIL today after a couple weeks and the first thing she said is “oh, you have become fat!”. Why are people like this? In hindsight I should’ve said “thanks, you too”. ☹️

I'm an ESL teacher and this is my first year pushing into a 7th grade science class. The teacher seems annoyed by me (and my 3 Newcomers) and treats me like a teaching assistant. Not cool.

Does anyone know where I can find basic ESL worksheets for newcomers that aren’t British? I just got a few new students whose English is about zero. Thankfully I speak their language (I am the only one in the school who does) but I wanted to start them on basic vocabulary (colors, foods, school supplies etc) and basic grammar. But a lot of the worksheets I find are designed for people learning British English and I don’t want to confuse my students because the vocabulary is different.
