Looking for some specific info on Short Term Disability eligibility at EY. I would like to accept an offer, but won’t be eligible for 16-wk parental leave before 1 yr of tenure. This is an important detail for me since I am expecting this year. I have received in email that for parents who have a child *before* 1 year, that they are eligible for STD after 3 mnths at 100% for 6 weeks (+3weeks of approved PTO). is there fine print that pregnancy is a ‘pre-existing condition’ and I’d be denied?

Eat the pie.

Please don’t be the person who talks about their diet/negative body feels at the holidays.
Enjoy the time with your family and worry about the rest later. One day/meal/dessert has 0 impact on your progress.

The 3 bite rule worked great for me when I was younger. Eat and totally enjoy 3 full bites of absolutely anything indulgent. Eat healthy rest of the time.
The first bite is irresistible, the second because the first was so good. The third is fine and after that you can easily stop yourself because you feel the craving satiated. Allows you to live a little without the stress of diets, macros and cheat days.
Plan ahead. Know that you plan to enjoy the piece of pie or whatever, and try to not eat alllllll the things for every other meal too.
That said, one meal won’t kill you if you indulge.

Are you going to stop eating pie for the rest of your life? You need to follow a “diet” that is a sustainable lifestyle and allows for “cheat days” every now and then. On Thanksgiving I typically make a small plate for dinner with very small portions so that I can enjoy a piece of pie.
Stay hydrated and go for a walk! Don’t worry so much about one meal. I’m one year PP and pretty much back to where I started after months of plateauing. This is the long game!
I found Noom really helpful for situations like this, it's all about mindful eating. You may already practice some of these methods already. So you eat the pie - maybe it's a smaller piece of pie - but take a moment to enjoy the flavor, the color, the texture, etc and really enjoy the experience. Let yourself enjoy it and don't feel bad about it. Eating slowly allows you to enjoy the experience and also gives a chance for your brain to tell you when you are full.
Do a mental check in with yourself - are you eating because you are hungry, or to satisfy an emotion? Is there another way you can satisfy that emotion? Can you connect with family by going on a walk or playing a game?
With family, if saying that you are full doesn't work, you have other options. Find a family member aligned to your goals who will be your ally. You can share that you are working towards a goal, or deflect by saying maybe you will try some later.
And finally, it's OK to indulge every now and then! In fact, treating yourself occasionally can help avoid going on a food binge later on.
Best of luck, and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Love it and the motivation! One option is taking your own dessert so you get to indulge t in a healthy way 💕
