Hi all,
Does your organization have a good work-life balance, especially for IDs? Or do you know any such organisation? Currently I am working for more than 12 hours a day. I am a mother of one year old, hence, want to switch to the organization, which has less work pressure.

Wait until after your 20 week anatomy. If you hired you for longer - term investment, they don’t care when you take leave. If they do care - it’s a red flag!
This is so uplifting to see all the answers here.
I did! I took maternity leave 8 months after starting with the firm. I was super nervous too but my team was very supportive. When I came back I was welcomed and treated just the same.
I got pregnant between accepting the offer and starting (due in December). Told my manager fairly early due to multiple appts and she was supportive and recently started telling peers and they have also been great.

You should check what you’re eligible for? Some benefits start day one but others require tenure.

What company are you with?!

I also started a new job with only 4 months to go. I did not disclose prior to accepting either. I waited until I was a few weeks in to share the news and found almost everyone very supportive
Also got pregnant between accepting offer and starting. I’ll be going out on leave in 6 weeks. I told them right away
Got pregnant after working for 6 months. Told the team at my 12 week mark and everyone was super supportive!
Thank you all! Appreciate you sharing - it’s helpful to know I’m not the only one who’s been in this position!

I started a new job 25 weeks pregnant (long story...but to summarize, when I applied, I wasn't pregnant lol) and told as I got the offer. Team was definitely shocked but my direct manager, VP and team have been super supportive.
I got pregnant right after getting a promo. I was also nervous about telling my team, but I received nothing but excitement on their end. The great thing about pregnancy is that you have 9mo to plan - so your team will have plenty of time to figure out what will happen down the road. So try not to worry. Congrats on the new job AND the pregnancy! Exciting times for you 💛

Currently me. I’ll deliver in December and started in April. My boss has been the best. So has my team. I got really sick the 1st trimester and had to take leave and they were super supportive. I had to tell them at like 9 weeks because I was so sick. No regrets.
Im on the same situation. Waiting for my first prenatal appt to make sure everything is fine with baby. By then I’ll be 11 wks. Lucky I havent had much morning sickness but i am stressed out about letting my team know. I feel like they will be supportive but I’m not 100% sure
I feel the same way! Things have been super busy on my team, so I’m sure they won’t be thrilled about their new hire going on leave in a few months, but I’m trying to focus on the fact that timing is never perfect and they (hopefully) hired me as a long-term investment.

I will be due 10 months after starting a new job! I am counting down the days I’ll tell my boss as I have felt awful and feel like I’ve really been slacking! I am very fortunate that I will qualify for maternity leave!! Best of luck
Same to you! I’m in the exact same boat (but will be due 9 months after starting my new job). Hopefully everyone is supportive!

I’m telling my team this coming week. I started pregnant and my boss knew but my directs and their teams don’t know. I waited until after I’d established myself - 5.5 preg and 2 months in but it got hard to his the belly! Worst kept secret ever but wish me luck!
Found out I was pregnant right after I got the verbal offer. Took mat leave 7 months in. Team was super supportive, and it was actually super helpful for work to take a short break and let thoughts percolate in my mind - had a breakthrough during leave and came back with my most successful and innovative project I had at this position as a result.
Anyway as long as you acknowledge the situation and look for ways to help and support while you're out you are likely in a good position.
