Can someone suggest a decent printer? I have an HP inkjet.
- If you dont subscribe to Instant Ink, they keep warning you every week that the ink’s low.
- If you subscribe, the ink never arrives or not on time; if you buy official HP from Staples, it earns you only to use a subscription one!! Just bl**dy scr*wed either way.
Need one with high res option, double sided, with multi paper scanning.

To be honest, it’s going to be difficult unless you want to get back to school for a PhD. Don’t do this because it’s just painful and changes your career goal altogether. I wouldn’t recommend a day 1 CPT program owing to the complications and scrutiny involved.
Not sure where you guys are on the marriage front but that’s an option.
Canada can be your go to because your SO is on h1 and it’s not easy for him either. However, this will come in handy only if you decide to get married or want to live together
Pro
1.Option 1: Assuming you need to stay in US.Better is change your boyfriend. As marrying him also will not solve the issue
2. Option 2: Assuming you want to keep the boyfriend.Move back to your country or another with your boyfriend
3.Option 3: long arduous one. Do PhD/ MS etc so that you get time to think
Idk once ure in the uk companies are reluctant to hire
Marry him?
She can’t work on an H4 visa (dependent visa)

Some firms accept day 1 CPT, you could start a/another Masters
I went to Sullivan university in KY for two years, it is one of the best among the ones that offer day 1 Cpt, but the H1 visa of many of the folks in our batch including mine got rejected. It is a lot of hard work and a lot of money spent 2k usd per month at a good university, and still you might not get H1.
If one of you has the H-1, the other one can be on H-4.
After marriage and you can only work in the US if his company has applied to GC, if not you can stay in the US but you can’t work
Hi, sorry - this is not an easy (or a unique) problem. Pwc 1 has covered a lot of your options.
Consider a move to Canada as it will allow both of you to stay employed and earn money.
If relocating out of US is not an option for your boyfriend, then you can consider moving to a different visa like - student visa, H4 dependant visa post-marriage (but you can’t work and the H4 EAD seems to be on the chopping block)
Consider an EB5 investment visa worth $900K (which might help you get a visa in 8 ish years ; but until then you have to figure out a way to stay in the country).
No easy options. The path to education/work/life in USA should come with a giant disclaimer so we don’t get complacent about our temporary status here.
Hang in there

PhD program
You can consider enrolling to a master’s program that offers full-time day-1 CPT.
Some of these schools are very old established institutions and they are legit with proper accreditations. This would give you another 2 years to study and work full-time in the US
They typically design classes in long weekends and once every month or two months. You also continue studying in summers
You can get a cap exempt H1B working at a non profit organization. Text for details if you need it, my husband switched to it when his H1B was not picked in the lottery in all 3 attempts during his OPT/STEM.
Best option would be heading to the Himalayas and finding peace. Hence, you don’t have to deal with any further immigration issues😁 and live life stress free.
What have you done so far? As in what visas have you been on?
OPT
Well here are some legal options to stay in US that you may have in case you don’t get your H1b until your OPT ends:
1. Go for higher education like Phd and stay on F1 for few years
2. Marry someone who has a legal status in US that will allow you stay as dependent e.g. H1b, L1, US citizen etc.

the only option is ..marry your boyfriend asap and ask him to expedite his i140 process if he does not have it already. you can continue to remain married and work and try your luck next year in h1b..if you get through good..if not straight away convert to h4 ead hoping your boyfriend to be husband gets his i140 by then ..if not you may just have to remain on h4 as a lawful wife for few months till he gets his i140...not a bad deal either...
Consider consulting an attorney to see if you might qualify for an O-1 visa. If you have a viable case, you may still have enough time to compile additional evidence to establish a strong case.
Have you both considered moving to Canada on their express entry program? It’s takes just a couple of months for permanent residency. I would explore that as a backup plan in case your H1b doesn’t come through next year.
