Book a trip to Vegas for a pool party in June. Watch a workout pump up video on YouTube... like a Crossfit games hype video. Always gets me amped. Last but not least, pre-workout... just take it and you’ll have no choice but to go work out the energy
Trick your mind by convincing yourself to go to the gym, but only to do 1/3rd or 1/2th of your typical workout. There’s probably a 90% shot greatness will take over and you’ll stay to do the whole thing
I go through the same thing from time to time. What helps me is this one saying - what’s easier, working out an hour a day or being fat 24 hours a day. Gotta embrace the grind, it never ends.
If you wait for inspiration to strike, you could wait as long as forever. Go to the gym even when you’re not motivated. Do some small thing every day. Do that, and before long you’ll find your motivation coming back!
Be kind and patient with yourself. It’s okay to struggle with motivation, it happens to everyone. It can help to go with a friend, or take a class to get back into the groove. Or think about what you enjoyed the most when you were going to the gym, and plan a workout that revolves around that - just the things you love to remind yourself and your body how much fun you can have when you exercise. Maybe do some research online and find a fun new program that piques your interest that you can get excited about starting. Or build a playlist of all the songs that get you really pumped up. You’ve got this!
Biggest thing for me is just to get to the gym. Once I’m there, I’ll do the workout. Shoot for consistency and your mind will adjust to the expectation of working out every other day (or whatever your planned routine is).
Or, have a workout partner or hire an online coach...
Focus on a healthy/balance diet and proper sleep. It will help encourage making to the gym much easier. Have a good schedule and know what type of workout you plan on tackling per day.
Find a program online that’s easy to start. Follow the two minute principle - get to the gym and promise yourself two minutes of a workout. Good things will happen.
