What business would you start with $20k?

Any healthcare executives here?
Which company would you join?
I currently work in Sales with the intention of moving over to marketing in the near future. I received two offers for BDR/SDR roles from Sprout Social and Gong. Both salaries are around the same (Gong - base 63k + anticipated $25k in commission, Sprout - 55k base + anticipated $25k in commission).
I like both companies’ software and it extremely hard to decide which position will get me into marketing faster as it is not a traditional BDR path to take.

It’s not that no one wasn’t to work the big problem right now is that most companies don’t have managers in charge that know how to treat people and they don’t value them as employees. Think about it why should someone work for minimum wage and get treated badly or work for any amount of money and get mistreated? That’s results to high turnover and a revolving door.
Yup, my first job out of school put me on a performance plan because my manager could not find any reqs for us (was a recruiting place). No reqs = no jobs to find people. They had me interviewing people for fake jobs just to add to the pipeline for later on. So when people asked what the status was I had to say “they’re on a hiring freeze” and straight up lie. I ended up leaving on my own and my manager and the one above him were let go 3 months later. This was after they ran through their 3rd recruiter in 2 years. They were kept around because they were part of the boys club and it was everyone else fault around them. Till they had no recruiters and were setting no meetings.
The other issue especially in sales is that managers want to control their sales teams too much and micromanage them. This causes the talented sales people to quit. That’s the whole reason people get in sales is to have a entrepreneurial style job and it is mind boggling how companies still continue with these ineffective management strategies.
Yes, yes, and yes! I have shown early success in customer satisfaction and lead generation only to be told that I haven’t hit my door knocking numbers and my job is in jeopardy.
Me- “But I’m generating leads through referrals and online marketing.”
Sales Manager - “Cool story… you need to knock on doors.”
Me - “But that isn’t generating the same amount of leads.”
Manager - “Knock on doors or you’re fired.”
Me- “what about the leads I’ve generated? I need to get them estimates and information.”
Manager - “Admin work is for nights and weekends. Knock on doors.”

Tech sales jobs used to require Electrical Engineering degrees with a 3.5 or better GPA. When the market grew exponentially, companies had to lower their standards, and that's why Systems Engineers exist today - to bolster salespeople who have no idea how their product works.
Yes and yet people still say that it is hard to find good in employees lol. I think one could argue that it is hard to find good EMPLOYERS!
That’s some generous OTE there
Hah yeah my comment was tongue and cheek too - tone is tough over text :/
Haha, fr. I can't even with this post.
Also I think it’s good to ask employers why they are hiring for the position, because you have to remember they will sell you on why the position is so great, but at the end of the day if they are hiring there is always some downsides to the position.
😂
HAHAHAHAH this made me laugh.
I was confused at first. Haha. You got me on the aliens part. Lol
