No unemployment checks for health workers who refuse vaccine

There will be no state unemployment benefits for health care workers who are fired for refusing to get employer-mandated vaccinations against COVID-19, state officials said Thursday.

Already, a small number of workers have quit rather than be fully vaccinated ahead of the deadline at month’s end.

Which state?

I don’t have a problem with this.

Wait for the lawsuits

So private companies can do whatever they want?

An incredibly small number have quit. Like .05%. A better way to phrase this would be "thanks to vaccine mandates, the vast majority of health care workers are now much safer for vulnerable patients to be around".

Hello HR folks. Overheard a conversation at work and am curious what is the norm.
If an employee goes out on FMLA, obviously the benefits person sends them the STD, FMLA paperwork etc. But is it the maagers responsibility to maintain communication with the person out on leave and to get a timeline on their return or would that be the benefits team? Or maybe the HRBP?

What’s everyone’s net worth and associated auto insurance coverage? I’m at around $1.4M, but my coverage is $100/300K for bodily injury liability and uninsured motorist bodily injury. Wondering if that’s adequate or i need to enhance my coverage. I drive a Civic so don’t think i can really even cause that much damage if something does happen.

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. I’m also getting to a stage where I’m really sad that people haven’t reached out to either my husband or myself to send well wishes or provide support. It’s like they don’t know what to say or I make them feel awkward so they don’t bother…I’m trying to focus on a few that have been supportive but it’s hard…Any words of advice? 😞

Hi Everyone,

Need some inputs before making an important decision.
I have offer from Cognizant and they are promising that next quarter they will initiate my Canada visa. They are giving assurance when I spoke to them over call. Also, my current employer Accenture is also saying the same to retain me. Can I believe Cognizant? Also, Canada onsite is best in which company - Accenture or Cognizant. Please suggest based on your experience.

Thanks in advance!
