In any sort of analysis of ‘Who must I test’ - there has to be either a history of travel, or history of contact with someone who has traveled. The former seems to be covered by screening at airports for hotspot travelers. The latter is something the government is actually working towards. You cannot start mass testing people for Coronavirus, either due to it not being feasible or due to no starting point. Unlike China, we don’t have an epicenter. Unlike USA we do not have a hotspot. So for everyone who says 🇨🇳 greatest and all. Please. They goofed up, and then locked down an epicenter.
90% of offices have given wfh in Maharashtra which is a real big step. There is not much motion in North though.
India is doing a good job overall but agreed that the government can do more. They woke up in time and are proactive.
I have a feeling had India truly had widespread community spread, we’d be seeing people drop dead like flies already and that hasn’t been the case so far. India already has a lot of people with diabetes and respiratory problems.
Enough people. They have to mentally accept that stage 3 has begun and more testing needs to be done to flatten the impact of stage 3 - community based transmission

Any source for this?
Less testing = Less cases. India has one of the lowest test rates. And we have already seen this scenario playing in USA and Italy. India government also ordered one million test kits today. They are planning to test 1000 random sample every week which again is very low. Its called being blissfully ignorant.
C1, no one is creating panic and I have tweeted my thoughts to PMOIndia. I hope someone reads it on the other end.
I never said India is not proactive. The government has done everything possible till now to contain the infection. However, they need to start prepping up for the eventuality which is community transmission. Stay one step ahead of the game. I want this government to be successfull and will be more than hally to see them carry on with their successful streak of containing the infection. Next two weeks we will know.

Op- understand the concern but can you pls also read the action government is taking? I speak to my parents on everyday basis as they are in 70s but the story they tell me is completely different.. government may not be testing enough people but been proactive.. my parents say it’s difficult to spot anyone on road.. it’s dead out there.... malls theatres closed.. people opting for staying home
FYI - my parents are from Gujarat and two students were rescued from wuhan and they tested negative and stayed in quarantine
I hope the media reports don’t become reality and I hope India shines through and all baseless claim against central government falls through
Again, some states are doing better than others. My family members live in delhi and around. People are going about their daily lives without much isolation. Noone is blaming Govt. Most of us love our Govt. for doing what they are doing. But, india being so densely populated is not as easily contained as any other country in the world. So, we need more mandatory social distancing norms esp. when people don’t follow the guidance.
I am In India currently
as per my observation govt is taking right steps for example they stopped any foreigners to come starting first week, all schools, collages , offices are closed... buses , trains , public places are getting sanitized frequently every day..
It is Upto Indian citizens now that they implement on what govt is recommending.. I am not seeing this happening, worrying me about this situation.
