Hi guys I have an offer from Accenture and no issues in terms of CTC, job profile or other things. The only thing I am skeptical about is the job security. Do they really get rid of employees in a regular basis or the covid situation was a one time measure? This would probably be the last switch in my career and security would be of utmost importance to me. Please advise

Hi Fishes, any ZS Associates fish that can give some info about WLB at London office? Right now working at B4, are there any differences?
Also do you know if the title is negotiable during the offer? I will get an offer for assoc. consultant but in my current company I was offered to be a manager. So it would make my decision a lot easier if the role was consultant.
Thanks!

I’ve had U.K. passport for a few years now and I can definitely say that my career prospects and salary sky rocketed after I became the U.K. citizen. I think most of us “get there” eventually but it’s definitely a much slower start (especially if one doesn’t have the luxury of U.K./US university degree).
Depends.
Requiring a visa greatly impacts ability to land interviews. Especially standard 9-6 jobs in liquid recruitment markets often refuse to sponsor visas.
It's more likely to get visas in high pressure areas like consulting, B4, IB, startups.
In terms of pay - structured pay grids in many firms (esp consulting) render it unlikely foreigners get a worse deal. However, many lack the luxury of time (e.g. Post studies) so are left to take the first available post without too much negotiation or further searching.
One more thing. Initially I grew very frustrated with companies not sponsoring - it felt like discrimination.
But later realised I probably wouldn't want to work in a firm/role where they won't go the extra mile for the right candidate. sort of a blessing in disguise.

That’s the case for career advancement as well.
No, I’ve never felt under-compensated or that needing sponsorship was ever something counted against me. Any place worth working at doesn’t care about stuff like that - they just want the best people, and will jump through whatever hoops required. Have had multiple offers at tech/hedge funds/mbb/finance where visas was only mentioned as a “oh, you’ll need one? sure our lawyers are used to it”
