My relevant work experience as a Programmer is 3 years but my overall experience is 9 years where I worked in a BPO earlier. When I try to switch companies, I'm not getting shortlisted coz the pay I'm getting now for a 3 yr experienced person is more than that in the market and I'm not getting at least a 30% pay increase from recruiters. How do I solve this problem. My friends are telling me to lie about my overall experience. I don't want to do that.
