Not a confession but looking for some honest answers. It seems like if you are a tall male, it almost doesn’t matter what you look like and people respect you, women want to be with you, etc. Take away a few inches and you have to look like Tom Cruise to get a date. Is it really just about BDE or am I missing something? I’m 5’8” fwiw.

I’m 5’5 male and used to feel this way, so much so I went to therapy for it. I’m also bald so thats a double whammy. But guess what, I couldn’t change any of that so I focus on the things I can change, I wear fitted clothes, workout a bunch, take care of myself and feel like a million bucks. Most important-if you feel unattractive it shows and that will make people not want to be around you and it becomes a vicious cycle. Take it from me- i used to resent tall people and made self deprecating jokes to the point my friends almost punched me in the face for them

Thanks chief! Appreciate it

Height is out of your control for the most part (without heels). Just make sure your posture is good. A lot of people look even shorter because they've got the WFH rounded shoulder slump. Work out so you're fit. And wear the right fit—I have friends who look 3 inches shorter than they are because of what they wear. Face is something easily controlled—so it's better to focus on that. Also, your height, OP, isn't that short, especially when you're not hanging with your taller friends. 5 feet 5 inches and below is the real struggle zone.

I’m 5’6 and playful teasing/being a flirt seems to work fine for me. Pretend you’re 6’4 and walk around with that kind of attitude

C1 if their confidence is over the top it comes off as obnoxious or manic. I’ve encountered short men who were just after me because of my height, to prove something to the world. It has nothing to do with me. I know plenty of short and average men who are respected and loved for who they are. They have effortless grace and charm. Have to say that in my experience tall people are given a pass and assumed to have qualities we may not actually have.

Hey McK 😉

I’m a 5’ 7” manlet, and my girlfriend is 5’ 10”. There’s still hope out there for us! 😅

Personally, I'm quite partial to a shorta$$ but 5'8 is not that short, so you should be storming it. Maybe you just need to work on your confidence and charm a bit - having confidence and making a woman laugh is all you need.

Some men wish to be tall and here I am, a woman who is 5’9 and wish I was shorter. Mainly cause I can’t wear a lot of dresses!

My dad is 5’2”. He was married to my mom for almost 30 years and has been with his current gf for over 4 years. To a lot of women, personality is more important than height. It only takes one!

As a petite girl, I would say I prefer face and body build over height. I’ve seen a lot of tall guys who are not that great looking or are ugly. I have preferred more petite men with good looking faces, muscular, and big confidence. Some people prefer height above everything, but I think attractiveness (face, in shape, body build) is a more important quotient for me.

I am a 5’4” woman. I never gravitated to tall guys. I thought it was awkward looking up to speak, breaking your neck to hug or kiss or even cuddle. Tried it. Hated it.

I’m 5’10” and my husband is 5’7.5”. I’ve dated men ranging from 5’3” to 6’8”, and for me it’s about confidence. My ex-fiancé was 6’3” and could disappear in a room, but my husband can totally own the room when needed.

Maybe missing/downplaying the fact you are a partner? Rock a Rollie or a Porsche and watch the tides turn. Maybe you need to step up that first impression. Check your shoes, fit, trim and get a boost.

Well there is tall, and then there is BDE. Came here to say that.

I have never understood a hang up with height unless it was a dramatic difference. A good personality, sense of humor, being a decent human, and nice smile all come to mind prior to a height requirement. This isn't a theme park ride. Or is it?😆

Fair enough, for the most part. I just can't imagine solely be attracted to someone for their height, or eliminating someone otherwise great because of height seems so odd to me.

Good to hear that others don’t think it’s a big deal. I’m the token short guy in my group of friends and they’re cool but it’s weird when we’re out and my buddy (seriously the dude looks like Adam Driver) gets all sorts of attention.

Your friends may be working against you OP. Like as a woman I wouldn’t hang out with supermodels and expect to get attention from men.

Shorter men live longer!

Show your confidence average sized king. 5’8” is a good height. Now the question is…are you only chasing after hot leggy women?

Just get married . No need to chase women all your life

I feel short amongst my friends at 5.10. They always get the chicks that never look at me 😢 I feel you OP, we are one
