Not anything funny or interesting, but just here to vent that I HATE iManage. Working from home and it won't let me check in documents unless I restart my computer in between saving and checking in. I just want to get these docs done so I can go live my life. Aaarghhhhhhhhh 😭😭😭😭🤬🤬🤬😩

The part I hate the most is when it says it’s checked out by me on the system but won’t let me open the document. Pretty sure IT has my number saved by now.

There is a way to force it back in and always make sure you keep your cache in there clear. I can't remember the steps or what they are called, but the options should be in the tools. If you want to send a screenshot op the options in there, I could tell you which one it is. You should also keep your imange folder on the local drive clean too, sometimes the documents get stuck there.

I miss NetDocs from my old firm. I can’t stand iManage either.

Are you using the desktop program or the online site? I’ve been using the website with almost no issues.

It’s just a standard web browser interface, so I’d imagine any firm with access to the desktop app would also have access to the web version. People have mentioned the web interface lacks some features, but I’ve never know anything else and haven’t run into any issues as of yet.

I’ve also noticed a lot of people don’t properly check back in documents which creates a huge lag on your computer the more docs you have open. So I make a point of checking in all docs at the end of the day and if I don’t need to actually edit something, will either download a local copy or do read only.

Anybody in Ad Ops looking to make a move? We have an opening for a team lead on the strategy/analytics side (NOT trafficking). Lots of autonomy in this role and can be fully remote, agency is based in LA.

What agency made the original “house hippo” spot? It’s arguably one of most well known Canadian spots but I’ve never seen anyone take credit for it.

National insurance

how’s everyone feeling about this?

Quite miffed as I just got a small pay rise and now I think this plus the upcoming not rises in utilities and inflation will pretty much cancel it out.

I made a mistake starting SIP in a ULIP. Used to invest 7500 per month starting from November 2018. I have discontinued my premium payments since last year. That is when my fund was moved to an interim surrender state and now it earns 4% per annum interest.

After 5 years of lock-in that is November 2023, can i withdraw the entire amount at a time? (Of course after paying surrender charges)

I have accepted an offer from Mindtree and my DOJ is 8th Sept. Will I get salary in September or will it be paid with October's salary?

First year associate thinking about making the just from medium sized reputable IP firm to In House. Started at said firm summer of 1L year as a law clerk/patent agent in May 2019, have worked through school and full time as associate since Sept 2021. Feeling very “stuck” in day to day work. Love the patent/IP space but drafting and pros w/minimal human interaction is getting very difficult. Thinking In House would be better, but not sure how much experience needed. Thoughts?

Has anyone made the switch from accounting to sales, or moved into sales from a previous career? What was your experience making that transition?

I have a period of time (~2 years) where I worked multiple part time jobs. One job was with a FAANG so that’s easy to put on my resume. But the others included a couple non profits (mainly digital marketing), then multiple contracts with clients doing things like business development, APIs, websites, etc. How can I combine these “side gigs” under a single title/experience? Business Consultant? Say I ran a consulting agency? Business Dev Engineer? I’m lost. I don’t want to embellish or undermine.

Unbeknownst to my friends or family, I just stopped by Pinkberry on my way to pick up dinner and ate a small chocolate hazelnut with candied pecans under an awning in the rain in the most harried and shameful way. Much like I used to slam two IPAs while waiting for a take out order. 😂

Planning to visit San Antonio for a day. What are some cool things to check out ?

Any folk who love their debt finance practice? I’m at a V50. I like my firm culture (mostly) but don’t like the fact that I have to find cover each time I take a vacation. Is that common practice? Also, any partner can staff you so I’m not sure how it works cause we keep submitting capacity to the assigning partners but staffing seldom seems fair.

I moved across the country in the fall to join a V5 firm and I absolutely hate it. I’ve decided to leave after bonuses in January to seek out a job where I may have some semblance of a weekend and perhaps some mental stability. I’m finding it extremely difficult to deal with the mental burden of just “hanging in there” and selling yet another year of my life to the biglaw machine. I know this is a choice I’ve made, but the toll it has taken on my mental health has been shocking. Any advice?
