Not as well versed in M&A type cases. Worth making the time investment prior to my mck super round? Ie, does McK use these in their interviews?

What specifically do you have trouble with? M&A cases are usually straightforward, IMO. I'm curious what you believe you lack here compared to other types of cases.

Haven’t intentionally done any in my practice nor have my case partners used them. I know it’ll be minimal time investment to just run thru a few examples for structuring and brainstorming but don’t want to overindex.

Yeah, I'd run through a few, like you said, to see the typical factors discussed. You wouldn't want gametime to be the first time you see an M&A case.

I’d say at least know some strategies (ways you can merge/acquire a competitor). Even if not a case it can come up as a brainstorming exercise

I second this - came up as brainstorming exercise for me and I was thrown off. I work in finance btw, and still felt a little uncomfortable since it’s not a standard case question

Hi All, It’s been a week since I last heard from pwc in regards to my interview. I gave them my availability for next week but I’m on holiday and few of the days won’t be at home. Shall I follow up with recruiter and make them aware that I’m still waiting for something to be scheduled. Really don’t want to keep waiting…

Trying to exit into FAANG but know it may be a long shot involving a handful of rejections. Meanwhile got approached by a number of recruiters for a) smaller emerging startup <but need to shift geo>, and b) major banks for in-house strategy. I’ll proceed with interviews with a) since it will give me a flavour of tech recruiting, but should I even go through with interview process for b)? Thoughts? Fyi, have not interviewed in 4+ years!

I recently left a pretty good summer internship to take a full time job and I regret it. I have been losing sleep over it all summer. And after remote work ends, the job would be in a high cost of living city as well. Due to this, I am looking at switching jobs again. I feel terrible about starting my career as a job hopper. Despite getting interviews at good companies, nothing is making me feel better about this situation. I don’t know how to handle the thoughts racing in my mind.

I'm 7 months in and doing a really bad job at my current project because I hate consulting and the job itself makes me really miserable. I feel really helpless and don't know what to do because the worse I do the worse opportunities I'll get at this firm later on and then I won't be able to leave. I've been interviewing with some other companies but no offers so far, afraid I won't get any because I'm leaving so soon. Truly feel so helpless and lost, I really want out.

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
