10 Days of PTO is… rough. Does offer 2 have a bonus target? If not, your offers are close to the same TC, you get more upside and PTO at the startup.

Agreed, take 1. Still decent TC increase and likely more interesting work.

If there were no stocks on offer 1, I would have taken the industry offer in a heart beat. Assuming the value of stocks don't go up, I can still make $100K more with the industry offer in approx 3 years. How much should I value the stocks. Will they be worth significantly higher in the next 3 years? What was your experience with stocks, did you gain a lot or were they a waste? Which offer should I go for?

I would go for 1. The experience you get in startups can set you up really well for other areas and they generally have a better culture and more interesting/impactful work. Offer 2 sounds like good comp on paper but you can bet they'll work you to the bone for it and the 10 pto seems...awful. at least if you're able to negotiate on either pto you're already starting 50% higher in offer 1. I also hate the insecurity with contracts, personally. Knowing you'd have to be going through all of this again after a short period just adds to the stress.

Why is maternity leave, policy and other women's issues not important as compared to Juneteenth, coed bathrooms, and all the other issues in the media today? Women are half the population and at an average of 2.1 kids per woman, these are major issues. Are we not vocal enough? Organized enough? Not a serious voting demographic? Too grateful things are better in this generation? What is it? Why does 50% of the population matter less compared to these smaller marginal groups?

I have experience doing basic data analysis but not at the level of a data scientist. What would you recommend I do to gain these data scientist skills? I think the end goal would be to transition from cybe

I’m a 2nd year civil litigation associate at a mid-sized firm in south Florida. My dream has always been to go in house but was dissuaded by law school professors telling me not to. I’m at a crossroads now because I’m OVER the billing, but my boss and direct team is quite possibly the most amazing and supportive group. My boss is always willing to let us work remote or take vacations. My question is, is the grass greener on the other side? Should I go in house now or wait another 3 years?
