Sometimes promos are funded and raises are not due to company freezes. Talk to your manager!

What would you guys do? I have an offer for a Director role at KPMG making significantly more than my current comp. It's a lateral role as I'm currently SM, but up for Director promotion at PwC this June and have been promised I'll make it. However for an over $100K bump it seems like even with the promotion I won't get anywhere close to that, I'm pretty underpaid currently clearly and have been with my firm for 4 years. It's obviously a big deal to switch firms and build your network again.

Hi ladies,
What was your personal experience if you had a baby at a more junior level? Think- post-MBA level. Did it delay your promotion to the next level (manager or so)? Did you not want to get promoted bc it was hard to adjust to having a newborn and think about moving up?
Also- anyone start a new job where they expected a promo within a year or so and gave birth before the promo?
Would love to hear your stories, get any tips/advice. Thanks in advance!

I want and deserve a raise. When I took on this property a couple of months ago, I did not realize the amount of work it was going to take. For months, I was short staffed with no help from other properties. I’ve been able to overcome that and bring the property to a great place. Despite the constant no approvals of things I need to get the job done. How do I have this conversation? I never see my boss and rarely talk to her. If I do it’s over the phone or text and it’s quick. Help!

I'm about to get a promotion as a senior solutions architect. Currently my salary as a solutions architect is way below market. I haven't receive the offer yet. But I know it won't be as much as I am expecting since my salary is already below market. They will have to raise me about 60k-70k to at least get me where I am supposed to be. I don't think this is possible since it is an internal move. How can I demand/counter this? Other than having an offer from a different company

I have friend in Accenture who came to the US on H1B 5-6 years ago. Their GC was filed in EB2 and recently after their promotion it was ported to EB1C. I always thought the international manager criteria needed 1 year in the preceding 3 years in a foreign country but in this case i know for a fact thats not true. Is there a loophole here or am I missing something?

Need help evaluating three options. I like my current team and company, but pay is not particularly competitive.

Option 1: Stay in current role despite comp disappointment

Option 2: Stay at current company, but move to a better paid team for maybe a 25% bump

Option 3: Go back to my former employer who I have a good relationship with for a 75% raise, expecting a worse lifestyle

I would go Option 3 without a doubt except that I've been too much of a job hopper and worry about optics.

I joined a startup that was unable to raise Series B which was something that they sold me on while interviewing me. The whole experience has been very underwhelming so far with reorganization changes and it’s only been 4 months since I joined.
I’m afraid I’ll be perceived as a job hopper, but I’m also scared that the company may go under given a short runway (~7 months). What should I do?

I’ve been approached by a recruiter about an opportunity at a boutique firm to come in as a partner. I’ve spent my entire 13 year career at a big Atlanta law firm. I’m currently on a part time/flexible work schedule and am not on the partnership track, so my pay has been about 60% of what it normally would be for my experience level. They’re asking for my compensation expectations without providing any kind of guidance on what it should be. Anyone know what a reasonable starting “ask” would be?
