Work a protein into every meal. Eggs/egg whites with breakfast, chicken or fish for lunch, lean steak/shrimp/scallops for dinner...protein shake with your snack. Find a protein powder that tastes good...isopure infusions tastes like lemonade. If you try to fit all your protein into one meal it’ll feel impossible but if you spread it out it’ll get easier! Especially the more you stick to it.

I lost about 50 pounds from the start of lockdown. 40 male. 290 started, now 240. I keep hovering now around 245. I lost most of it in 3-4 months. And my exercise really only amounted to walking around the neighborhood daily (about 2 miles) and a specific diet. Boom! Ask me how if you are interested.

You are getting very defensive over this without actually refuting my points so I don't see any use in continuing this discussion further. I guess it's nice that you don't hate me? I don't hate you either. You haven't convinced me one bit that you are not ultimately in a caloric deficit and I don't care what people think about when they're told about a caloric deficit, it is what it is. And your point about satiety is not at all related to what I was saying. Satiety makes it easier or harder to stick to a diet but still does not impact calories in vs. calories out. And it's known that low carb diets keep people more full and make them not want to consume as much... It's like increasing your bank account balance because you save more than you spend and saying, "it's not that I save more than I spend, it's that my approach to money makes me not want to spend as much as others"
Thanks for assuming that I failed on keto, that's not the case at all but irrelevant. And thanks for assuming that i dont know what it is; I've done a lot of research into it due to my family's extensive history of diabetes. I have maybe a drink a week because I don't enjoy drinking, but I got to my goal weight without restricting any food groups, and I know many people who did the same, and are keeping it off years out.
Anyway, good luck on your path and hope you continue to hit your goals with your approach. And hope others who decide to take the same path do too. I want you all to succeed. But on the point of calorie surplus vs. deficit I'm going to stay exactly where I was unless I am clearly shown that people can eat more than you burn and continue to lose weight (or, to be more exact, fat). If you have some actual data, happy to take a look. Otherwise we're at an impasse.

You don’t want to stave yourself either.
For additional protein I’d suggest looking at shakes and quest chips (super good) between those two you’ll get 40-50g of protein.

I use a macro service / coach called eat to perform. Went from 197 to 172 in 3.5 months while still eating absolutely all foods (but obviously in smaller amounts) and learned a lot about nutrition. Very supportive community with people of all ages and walks of life. And my coach is awesome. Plus lots of workouts available for all types of settings. PM me if you want to know more. I get absolutely nothing from referring, just happy to help.

Protein shakes, meat, beans. Calories in vs calories out.

Eggs, fish, chicken, turkey.

I started subbing lunch for a keto chow shake. Made a world of difference.

Thanks all I knew you would have good ideas!!!! I will do this dammit!

How many calories are you eating?

Weight loss is a matter of consuming less calories than you burn. You don’t need more protein. You need nutrient dense foods with lower calories. You know what they are; fruit, veg, and whole grains.

On this note, high protein levels aren't bad for you but it is generally unnecessary to hit as high of protein numbers as many doctors or trainers recommend. I believe that if you ultimately get about 0.65g per lb of ideal bodyweight (i forget exact studies and if it's ideal or current weight, but I can find them later), that's sufficient.

Do GM diet once. Not easy but will help you get started towards your goal. You will appreciate food in smaller quantities. Our body does not need a lot of food, just needs to eat enough to survive.
