Not really a physical health question, but more mental health. I had a rough breakup after a long term relationship and I am having a hard time healing. I’m taking depression meds, but still having a hard time. Anyone have any tips to heal?

When I was going through my divorce, I found a few things helped. 1) regular massages - comforting, physical touch 2) sitting in the sun as close to daily as possible - I needed the warmth of the sun on my face 3) holding a mug of tea (usually herbal). Obviously, warmth was important for me as I healed. Exercise was also really important.

This is all great advice! Especially the massages. My love language is physical touch so it helps me a lot. Only thing I’ll add is to try and pick up a new hobby. Could be anything but something physical and active is ideal. I picked up biking after a breakup and love it! Made lots of new friends that way too

Write your thoughts out in a notebook. It’s a good purge. Even if you’re writing the same thing, it helps

I’ve never taken meds but have close friends who have. Make a plan to safely ween yourself off meds asap, ie with a doctor. You don’t need them. That’s step 1. You will find someone else better for you when you least expect it. The harder you look, the more desperate you come off. Focus on yourself first. The confidence that gives you will attract others.

Sc1 you are correct you did not explicitly tell anyone to take drugs. I apologize for stating that you did. My point still stands regarding additional opinions. They are a must when evaluating treatment options for serious topics such as these

Try to do things that occupy your time when your working, as the mind tends to wounded when alone. Try doing something that you have have thought looked fun but takes a couple classes to learn. Like improve classes, fencing lessons, learning to play the violin etc.. and might sound wired but think about all the annoying things your partner did, or something that they said to you that may have hurt you and you’ll be disliking them in no time.

Thank you for all the advice.

Take your mind off of everything with breaking up. Go to exercise, party, and even study

Which health insurance plan do you recommend for pregnancy and maternity care? Looking for switching during current open enrollment . From the Deloitte sponsored plans, narrowed down to these 3 - Anthem Bluecard PPO, Aetna Select, UHC PPO. I am currently enrolled for Anthem Bluecard PPO and looking for other best options, if any. Also, if I get pregnant in December and switch to any other from Jan, will that works or the new insurance provider might raise a concern to cover the expenses? TIA!
