OP if that’s the case, why is the green 65% of the purple, yet the chart makes it look like 10%? Makes the visualization misleading
I think this graph was put together by Gov Whitmer's office, which is even worse than the media if it was intentional.
Weird scale. Also, I don’t think you can take credit for a SAH order until at least a week after it’s made. In other words, cases identified 3/24 were not decreased due to the SAH order on 3/23. Takes around a week to see benefits.
I think if you corrected for the scale it would look about right. You can see the inflection point a little after the stay at home. And if you eyeball the line you end up where 46k ought to be if on a linear scale with the 29k.
You realize the total on the right is the area under the curve don’t you
Look again, the green is the total actual cases, the purple is the total potential pre-flattening the curve.
It's like the opposite of a log scale? Wtf?
~ 46k lol
As a comparison, if the graph were drawn to scale, the orangish/reddish dot would be approximately where the potential cases line should be. Admittedly, I just eyeballed it on my phone, so it's definitely not precise, but is much more directionally accurate than the graph as shown.
Huh? If anything, if the graph were drawn to scale, my fat fingered dot would be higher than it actually should be.
The 46k figure on this graph is not drawn to scale with the number of actual cases.
