Not so much fashion related but getting married this Saturday and feeling a lot of anxiety. Not about the actual marriage part but everything else (stomach looking flat in dress as I bloat easily), all the leading events with family, all the planning that was done and seeing it execute the way I wanted it to, hair and makeup looking good, etc. Any recommendations on how I can just relax and relieve the stress and anxiety? And tips to avoid bloating starting now until the wedding evening?

Take a deeeeep breath. Release. Again.

Remember that your wedding day is about you and your soon-to-be spouse, vowing to spend your lives together. At the end of the day, if that is accomplished, it’s a successful day.

Now, focus on the things that you can control (because many of the things you seem to be worried about are things way beyond your control). You can’t control the weather or your guests and the more you focus on those things, the more likely you are to be disappointed. You’ve planned the wedding, paid your deposits... now, you just hope for the best!

Have you had a consult with hair and makeup? How did it go? If not, just be sure to have a picture of what you like - and speak up! If the make up is too heavy (or whatever the case may be) say so.

1. If you’re worried about the photos, tell your photog specifically what you’re worried about and ask for guidance with your posture and poses. Good wedding photographers have a TON of tricks to help people configure their bodies in natural and flattering ways.

I remember when my bestie got married the photog told me to make a fist behind her back instead of just slinging my arm around her and I was like “???” but damn if our guns didn’t look awesome in that pic, while still looking like a natural hug!

2. The people helping on your wedding day are either experts at what they do, or experts at loving you. What a great way to feel supported all day!

3. Sit down with your fave bev *today* and think about what makes you feel great across a perfect day. Is it working out the day before? Is it being hydrated? Is it gettin’ it on in the morning? Is it making sure you’re not hangry all day? Is it starting with a mimosa? Is it having a quiet place to take a step back alone? Make sure you’re building that stuff into your day before & day of very intentionally and you’ll set yourself up for a great day

Eat a small snack before the ceremony, maybe a few pretzels or something to help you feel grounded. Compress/suck in your stomach for pictures but don’t worry about it the rest of the time, enjoy your party and let everyone see you celebrating because that is more memorable and meaningful. At this point everything is set, you just have to show up and focus on your love. Accept that unexpected or unplanned things can happen and probably will. Maybe appoint one person to be the go-to if vendors have questions so they don’t have to bother you, and then fill that person in ahead of time and trust them to handle it.
Take time to eat and actually taste the food, listen to the music, admire the flowers, etc. and focus on your new spouse and how great they look and them having a good time too. Best wishes!

^ the triple post tells me that giving OP lists of things to do to relax is only going to make it worse, girl just needs some Xanny.

funny

Also another one is feeling sick or faint the day of the wedding and at the ceremony or walking up.

Also it raining. The weather is not looking that great Saturday evening and the ceremony is outdoors. If they switch it to indoors, people won’t attend because of the potential risk for covid which I understand . It’s a small ceremony already so none of our immediate family or close friends would prob show up and our large investment for the catering and the vendors would go to waste

At the end of the day it’s just a party, chill and have fun. Take 1/2 a xanny for the next few days.

OP rain is considered good luck tho! Best advice I can give is to just remember youre marrying the love of your life and none of these details really matter. Hope it goes off without a hitch! 🙏🏼

Thank you all for the helpful advice 💜💜
