Not sure if there's a better bowl for this but looking for perspectives and advice on furthering education. Considering 1) tech management which is aligned with my current trajectory but fairly general or 2) sustainability management which builds a similar but more niche skillet. Can anyone help? Columbia's sustainability mgmt program seems solid but wondering how valuable it'll actually be on the other side

Hi friends! I’m looking for resources to help me be successful in a “Functional Lead” role.

The role is in FinTech
I’m responsible for strategy, comms and key partnerships for a bank product. It reports through Customer Experience but touches product, Ops. marketing. It’s basically a Project Manager role but more nuanced.

Anyone out there in a role like this? Any books. videos or even best practices to share?

Hired as Product Marketer. Now manager wants me to “own all strategic partners.” If you were asked to take over partner marketing activities, what pros and cons would you see to having those responsibilities?

I haven’t worked with partners much, and it has never been an interest. However, maybe the company thinks partnerships will be a big source of revenue (I am trying to find out from a C-level).

My manager thinks partner marketing won’t take more than 25% of my time. Not sure I believe it.

CTS with 9.8 lpa(9.4 fixed) or TCS with 10 lpa(9.3 fixed)....Which is best in terms of learning and growth..WLB too( 2.5 year experience, spring boot Microservices developer)

Seeking advice from experienced small business owners. I'm thinking about transitioning from a small physical shop (art, jewelry, incense, books) to doing it all online. For anyone who's made the switch or had an online shop for a while, what are the must-do's and the must avoids for switching over? Business is good so not worried about losing patrons, just want to make it as seamless as possible.

What questions would be helpful to ask in-house attorneys, even if a little personal, to determine whether in-house would be a good fit?

As background, I am thinking about leaving my firm. I like the firm but dislike the hours and I am realizing that it only gets worse (late bloomer, I know). My mentor suggested that I do a little more homework by using an org I am in to make sure the change will be an improvement and to know what to ask for in interviews if I decide to start looking around.

If traveling is reduced in future based on clients wanting to cut costs, would the big 4 model change in advisory and maybe consulting? For examples at Deloitte I know we have a lot of random smaller offices where it doesn’t matter as everyone travels. Would they consolidate offices and maybe have people aligned to offices and teams to work together and then travel as needed similar to GPS. I believe this is how audit works as well.

Need help! I have two coworkers whom I love—they’re my best friends at work, make our toxic work environment bearable, and are always there for me. My issue is that they are really negative, and their pessimism is starting to affect my mood. One is going through some health issues, so I can kind of understand. The other just hates our workplace, and I’m really tired of her whining. What can I do? How can I approach this without losing my safe place to vent?

I create the solution diagrams, drew up project plan, drove discussions to arrive at tech solutions (the team was in analysis paralysis mode) to land a solution with a hard deadline. When the structures are in place, mgr takes it away from me saying this is not my day job - twice, leaving me angry & confused. Thoughts?

Hello all,
I’m stuck in a bit of a hole.
In short, I used to be an engineering manager that led a team of 15. Two years ago I changed companies. The new position I took was a huge step down to senior design engineer however the pay was actually the same and the benefits better. I thought it would be a good chance to get me out of the toxic company and then reset my career however, I’m struggling to now get a job as an engineering manager again.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
