This represents all but one project in past 4 years. Finally given up trying to grow internally, time to go back to industry.

I was 17yoe in industry before joining consulting. Don't regret it but it's not been as rewarding as led to believe; I'm a misfit.

Move on to the next project - we all go through projects that are not our particular cup of tea.

A career is not a linear path where every single assignment and role will be clearly a step up from the last. Overall, it isn't clear that your current role is a step back from whatever you were doing pre MBA. Sounds like you are on a bad project, which happens from time to time in consulting. It should be over soon enough, assuming you are not on an 18 month staff aug.

Agreed, similar sentiments! Minus having a top-tier MBA.

I studied SCM in college but I’ve been working through tech implementations on the ptp side for about 4 years now - it’s been all indirect client work though and no supply chain. How tough is it to pivot to more process and supply chain based strategy projects - do I need to get my mba. At a smaller firm now and feel like I’d have to jump to an Accenture to actually have the ability to do that kind of work (logistics and trade optimization, planning, manufacturing)

I have been really contemplating leaving my company for quite sometime now. Here’s why: 1) recently went and got my MBA completed summer 21 2) I’m nowhere near the salary range I should be in 3) the role I’m currently in is a job that should be two levels(pay grades) higher than what it is 4) my boss is a very nit picky person and we do not collaborate very well at all. What is stopping me from leaving is that I have established rapport within the company, access to senior leaders, and flights

Does working for a smaller, not finance/consulting company hurt your chances of getting into a top 10 mba program? I’ve worked at Comcast and Deloitte, 4 years out of undergrad, finance for both. I have an opportunity to work for an industry leader in the commercial space but the name is not in the same prestige as my last employers. Work is much more exciting and hands on and the salary is much better but I’m worried about the way schools may look at my resume. Advice? Insight? Thanks!!!
