Not sure why, but all of my job applications are being denied. I feel like I have all the skills necessary to be a data analyst/Sr data analyst. I’m good with SQL (Also have ETL experience), PowerBI, excel, have a good grasp on general statistics, and I have close to 2 years as a data analyst for an e-commerce company. Not sure how to format my resume but it’s getting annoying meeting the requirements for all the positions I apply to and not getting any responses during a “hiring frenzy”

Are you customizing your resume to the requirements of the job or leveraging the key words or connecting with people in the org? Otherwise have a professional review your resume. Had some two levels down from me do this and got a CIO job. Totally insane but works

Just to clarify, it’s saying that I’m posting as a data scientist because I have my data analyst title pending approval. Not sure why fishbowl needs to approve that title…..

Why are you looking to change jobs?

Not sure how you’re formatting your resume. I am getting a very good response but I do have 4+ yoe in DS

I got a MUCH better response when I had my resume and Linkedin professionally rewritten, was barely getting any bites before that

I'll see if I can dig out the exact company as this was a few years ago, but you can found tons of resume writers on Upwork, and you can also search resume writing companies. I did a lot of research to find a service where you could talk to the writer (like a 15-20 min call) to talk through my experience, responsibilities and role because what I do is a bit niche. Once we had the intro call, they took it from there and redid my resume. Once I was happy with that, they rewrote my LinkedIn accordingly

It's also just crazy right now with a lot of people looking for new jobs. Might take a while, but use that time to review your resume, cover letter, make sure to include key words from the job listing and company values

I manage a team that’s part data scientists in e-commerce. Happy to take a look at your resume.

Currently going through some negations on an internal role. I’m currently at 88k and they offered me 100k for a position that requires a lot more work. Do you guys think it’s easier to land a higher salary when applying externally rather than internally? Also this is for a territory sales management role. They stated 120k+ is extremely high for that role. What do you guys think? Playing the game?

How do I avoid giving up my desired salary first? Tired of recruiters asking me what my salary expectations are without offering the salary range for the position first. My salary expectations are based on a multiple factors. In some instances I am willing to take a lower salary, but I don’t want them to know that. What can I say to get them to give me the range first and then I can state if that works for me or not?
