it’s four years into work from home.. …. your boss still doesn’t wear headphones or mute themselves on calls … . … you’re trying to present your work….. another day, another battle with what you said two seconds ago
I asked a vice chair in my group to talk informally about working remotely going forward (we already are remote now and was largely flexible pre covid) and also a possible pay bump. This is my first salary/work benefit negotiation and I’m so nervous I might just unhire myself before we actually get to talk 😭😭
When the MD goes, "With the snowstorm tomorrow, work from home if you need to... I'll be coming in." 😒
Catching up on GOT. Work from home perks 👍🏼
Any companies offering permanent wfh??
Hi all, I’m looking for recommendations of tech/ automotive companies that allow working fully remote. I’d really like to move out of my current company but can’t do so for the next two years because my spouse is going to school here. Any recommendations on which companies allow working fully remote (at least for a couple of years until I’m able to relocate)?Apple Cruise Automation Google Amazon Waymo LLC
Do you think agencies will eventually require employees to come back into the office full time? Now that I’ve experienced the benefits of WFH, I can’t imagine commuting 5 days a week, paying for a dog walker, waking up earlier, buying lunches again, having to get ready every morning, etc. I do miss some aspects of the office, so ideally would do a couple days in and the rest WFH but worried I’ll eventually be forced to go back full time. Any thoughts/predictions?
Which firms are still letting people expense overtime meals, aka WFH hasn’t changed expense-ability?
Kudos to BBDO for their suuuper fun app letting staff brand home offices as “BBDO branches”...AFTER BEING LIKE THE LAST AGENCY TO ADOPT WFH & MAKING EMPLOYEES COME IN WELL AFTER IT WAS CLEARLY UNSAFE
Anyone else feel like their life has become super monotonous? My wife and I both WFH indefinitely, and we see friends and stuff on weekends which is nice but Monday through Friday we come downstairs after work, walk the dog, and ask “what do you want to watch?”…watch TV or whatever then go to bed. Is this just life now?
For remote learning activities, I’ve tried to give fun assignments to the high schoolers. Does anyone have any creative ideas to share?
Till when WFH for EY GDS Bangalore?
Prediction: Maybe companies realize WFH actually works. And several of them stop paying absurd rent for large commercial real estate space. Half the company becomes WFH. People move out of NYC (cntd)
So bankers are getting Pelotons or even bonuses (10k for Moelis, 20k for citi analysts /associates) for too many work hours and the burnout feeling. Pretty sure most consultants feel the same way. Anything EY is considering doing to boost the WFH burnout morale. Can uncle Mitch buy us all a peloton to compete with industry standards
Actually am getting pretty comfortable with this WFH arrangement. dont wanna jinx it 😬😬😬
New to comp. C here, my senior just took credit over my work on a meeting with our higher ups. Is this common? What should I do?
I’m a CPA (tho never worked in audit/tax) and do finance/accounting technology implementations. I’m beginning to look at exit opps but not sure where to start. What are some logical next steps or types of roles I should be looking at? Corporate Finance? FDD? FP&A?
Do any of the firms (Big 4/MBB) have a ban on charging strangers for mock case interviews? Heard of some people doing it as a side hustle, but sounds questionable
I want to start investing outside my 401K. Till now I just have about 3k in market and some in 401. I have 40k in my checking. What would be better? ETF here? High Yield Savings here? Or NRE account back home?
Anyone in here from AlixPartners How would you compare the work/comp/staff to Big4? Also is VP the equivalent to manager elsewhere?
What is the salary day of your company? Mine is 24th of every month(if it’s a holiday then the work day before it) and could see nothing left in account by 1st lol😂
Hi all! Does anyone have any advice/resources on how to prep for business intelligence roles interviews? For example, data analytics/viz quesions (not necessarily coding on spot but explain how I would approach a data related request). So far I have been answering based on my work experience, but want to do a more systematic prep if possible
My company is changing to unlimited vacation days. Will they pay out the people who still have vacations saved up? They are being super secretive. Has anyone gone through this?
A recruiter from EY reached out to me to schedule time to talk about a Technology Strategy Senior position. What can I expect from the recruiter? Can anyone speak about their experiences in this role? What’s the compensation for a role like this?
Had two great phone interviews last week with A&M. They seemed impressed and I thought I would be on the next round. Haven’t heard from them since. Wonder if Corona had an impact...
In case you never got to see the New York Times article about air quality in classrooms, I’m posting it here for you. It makes some very important points about creating the safest possible environment for students and teachers. 1. Open windows if it all possible 2. Place air purifier centrally 3. Don’t place fans in a way where the air is pointed at people Have a great year and keep yourself and your students safe! https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/02/26/science/reopen-schools-safety-ventilation.html
boutique vs. big 4 vs. MBB? Pros and cons.
Any tips for interviewing with someone extremely extremely senior when you're a pleb? Lol
Genuine question as I wanted to know is it strange for someone to want to switch to advisory from tax. Would it be difficult for someone to transition from that position? I understand that they are too completely different work but similar fields. Also wanted to know what’s the day to day basis like for advisory during covid and in general
Recruiter wanted to call to discuss feedback from second round interviews. Likelihood it's good or bad news?
How is the wlb in ey considering Morgan Stanley as client? Skill set : Java and springboot .
