Need advice please. My dad is 68 and plans to retire in a few months. He works for the government and had a TSP with about 350K accumulated. We keep getting calls from these financial advisors that deal with government employees and tell us we should put part of that TSP in an annuity contract so he gets guaranteed income (comes to about 1.4k to 1.9k per month depending on amount and rider). In addition to the TSP he would have government pension and social security. Are annuities a good idea?

I have some cookies I bought for the lunar new year arriving tomorrow and I’m so excited. I know it’s sad but there’s not much that brings me joy these days .

Got a bit too drunk at a work happy hour. Nothing embarrassing happened but I definitely blacked out and could’ve said stuff that I wouldn’t have said sober.
