Noticed this weird spot on baby’s back tonight. He is 12 weeks old. Obviously we’ve sent a message to the pediatrician but anyone ever had something like this on their baby before?

Could if be a hemangioma? My baby has one on his toe, but I might be wrong

like

Looks like a strawberry hemangioma to me?

like

Totally looks like a hemangioma. They are quite common on heads/face. Usually babies are born with them and they get darker for the first 6 months or so and then start to fade. My daughter had a fairly large one one her back. She is now 5 and it’s mostly gone. Obviously check with your pediatrician.

Mystery solved! My brother in law is a doc and confirmed it’s probably a strawberry hemangioma, per the comments above. Thank you all for replying. What’s funny is when we spotted it tonight I swore I’d never seen anything like it on our older kids but once I heard the phrase I remembered that our oldest actually had one of those on her vagina (no joke) as a baby :)

Looking for recs for day time face moisturizer, something not too heavy yet moisturizing . I have super sensitive skin and live in the colder part of US. With winter kicking in having tough time with it :| Also my cheeks looks baby soft in the morning but right after I shower and apply any type of moisturizer *most* days they become a little rough textured and this scares me from trying new products. Does this happen to any of you or just me? TIA

Hi! Can anyone with kids speak on traditional daycares v. in home daycare and why they picked one over the other. I’m currently expecting and plan to be on maternity leave for 4 months before putting my baby in daycare. I’ve toured both and I’m torn. If it matters I live in an area with minimal diversity…so my baby will likely be the only black baby in her class 😅

I'm 31, with a toddler. Hubby and I are exhausted with one. He even wonders why we had a kid. (Hint: it was his idea.) I work a lot. He takes on the brunt of the parenting. Everyone tells us that having two is better so they can play with each other. Others say that the second kid was rough on the marriage. Thoughts?

Soon to be FTM with potentially controversial question - every non-consulting new mom I’ve spoken to warns how horribly difficult the first few months are with baby (eg sleep deprivation, stress, etc) As a career consultant I feel like I’m pretty used to sleep deprivation, high stress - are we uniquely positioned for motherhood or am I in for a rude awakening?

May have had an early miscarriage. I had double the days and intensity of my bleeding&cramps and I'm Very regular. We did try to get pregnant and it's our first attempt. I have never taken birth control as we used natural methods (pull out or cycle Tracking) I'm 32 and live a healthy lifestyle. Is this something that happens? Should we take a month off trying? Just a little nervous and uncertain.

Consulting Baby Shower question - what was the best baby shower gift you ever received?

I never thought being a mom would be this difficult. I am working full time, have an infant who wakes up every 3-4h and doesn't fall back asleep unless held in arms, am breastfeeding for medical reasons, and feel resentful and beyond tired all the time. I hate the fact that my body is so different to how it was before, that I don't have a sense of self any more, that I can't disconnect and take a break (and this is likely to not change for years to come). Is this normal or unfit to be a mom?

Is anyone else tired of hearing people talk about all of the things our seniors are missing out on? I’m so tired of this entitlement situation. Yes, it would be nice to have a graduation and end of the year activities. But these things are not owed to anyone. How about being grateful for survival? There are students all over the world that seem to get along just fine without senior activities.

A friend just kicked out of dental school because she refuses to get the COVID-19 vaccine. She claims her family has suffered “adverse affects” from the vaccine and is afraid to get it. What have you done to convince someone you love to get the vaccine? I hate watching her throw away her career because of something as trivial as getting a vaccine.
