Hi All,
Persistent Systems is giving 10% variable on gross annual CTC. HR says you would receive minimum 70% of variable pay every month and remaining 30% will credited once a year at the end.
Does anyone has idea on this? Can I believe this and include 70% variable in my take home

It's wrong.I know earning more money is not a bad thing. But if you want to make a career in your life it's important to give atleast 5 years to each company you work for.Or else your overall experience becomes dilute
Applies well for product based companies

Eventually it all catches up in the long run. If you do too many switches, eventually you will have to stay somewhere to make an impact, or else, you will hurt your career.
You can do too many switches at the start of the career, but at later part of your career, it will be about your impact that you made. And at those levels, salaries in terms of bonus and stock have no limits. It can easily be in crores. At that point, few lacks here and there at the start of your career wont be so important.
So don't worry, you are not missing out. This is just a trend of a market, and like every trend, it will pass. But fundamentals always stay.
People who are talented and hungry to earn more are trying for opportunities at certain regular intervals that are termed as "frequent hops" by a group of people. The companies are ready to pay for those people as well. So what is wrong and whom do you find to be wrong here?
Those are the people who know or atleast plan about when they are going to retire and how much they want to have for their retired life.
Note: I'm also going to make my first switch next month after 6 years.
I switched after serving 5+ years.
We also cannot say that switching frequently is a bad thing. Only thing is you have to keep you updated with new technologies as well. Only switching is not a option, you have to be knowledgeable in your field as well.
Since if any bad time comes, company always looks first to their high earning employees who are not so productive.
So your knowledge in your field is actually what that give you Job security!
Frequent Job hopping has its own merits and demerits.
Merits we all know.
Demerits are that we all are humans and we connect with ither human beings. When we meet new ppl it takes us time to adjust !
Which means our quality of life will get deteriorated.
When u r 5 years in a job..u have alrrady made great.connection and u r happy and confident in ur own skin. And ppl around u also have trust in u which boosts ur morale daily.
if someone is really good at what they do and they are ambitious then few frequent switches is not a bad thing. after a point of time one should stay in a job they really like for at least 4-5 years.
but people who are able to switch frequently in current market only because there is high demand and not because of their skills, they are going to get a tough time ahead when they will not be able to fulfill the expectations.
So job switching is not bad but one should also focus on learning and enhancing their skills
