anyone at ord t3?
Got an offer at a Big 4 firm, I am currently working full time and by the time my role starts at the firm, I will have over 2 years of out of industry experience doing some consultative work for a large automotive company. I want to know if I should try to change my associate role into a senior associate role based on the FT experience? Looking for some insight on this!PwC

Who cares he is a d-bag elitist liberal.
I like Maher overall and I'm somewhat Republican.
He is more objective than the vast majority of Liberals.
Maher, Harris, Hirsi-Ali and others are criticized on the left and boycotted because they make evidence based statements but those statements conflict with liberal identity and liberals reject nuiance, at least out loud.
PC1- yes, Mahr's stance on radical islam. His clip on that from sometime over the last year was very well done- all stats based
Totally agree PC1 and very well put
Haha before I saw P1's comment, I was going to say how much I loved him
PC1- it's true- isn't that funny? (no pun intended)
Not sure how much of a Democrat that Maher is btw - most Democrats are too into identity politics
So, you know how his theme song goes "we're still here" at the end? I was once on a conf call that kept cutting in and one and the SM (who is a big dem) was like, "we're still here." I almost said, "like the Bill Mahr song!" but opted for professionalism haha
Pc1- true that.Identity politics on both sides slows everyone down
Not on Republican side - strangest coalition ever
As of lately, I feel like some repubs are using the term "identity politics" to rebuke against things like the travel ban or deportation changes, but I was thinking about it, and don't some of these things just go against what we stand for as a country and not actually have anything to do with the particular identities? Yes, they are targeting certain groups, but you could replace "Muslim" or "Mexican" with a different word and the principle would still hold, no? Not looking to get into some big discussion, but that's my latest reflection on how the term "identity politics" is being used nowadays. Yes, we could get into a *massive* debate about whether they go against what we stand for as a country (and I will admit that that is relatively subjective), but I am referring to how several federal courts struck down the travel ban and the deportation thing, that one is messy, but having a database of crimes commited by immigrants just seems a little reminiscent of some other things in history that ended up getting pretty ugly. Sheesh, ok, don't open the can of worms with the ban and deportation comments, but just focus on the identity politics part. How do you define "identity politics?"
When I say "Identity Politics" I mean it as Democrats define themselves based on their positions on issues in a very rigid fashion. Even when you have conflicting ideals, democrats and liberals cling to these identities . They will hold up ideals in spite of glaring evidence in their face. This is why republicans can build and evolve diverse coalitions and democrats can't.
Thanks for your definition. I think what you said is part of it, but not all of it. No big deal though. How do you feel about McCain and Graham implying that Trump is damaging American democracy? Totally fine not to answer. I am tired and it is saturday night. I'm just passing the time while i do slow and mundane work
Dont you have climate change denying folks on Rep side who qualify as being identity politics driven based on this definition?
Yeah, what about all of the "Evangelics" and "real Americans?" who take pride in not living in cities?
I think Trump is dangerous but I don't see how he is damaging American Politics, depending on what you mean by american politics at least. Trump created nothing but played to an angry and frustrated American nerve center which he used to win.
Trump ran on being different and unapologetic. He didn't speak from a script. HRC is the symbol of establishment and she ran not on any real platform but her message was "I'm not Trump." People voted for something rather than simply against someone.
Both were incredibly corrupt but Trump was different and not the same old - and he won, connecting a diverse and new coalition and radically changed the map.
I think he is a terrible choice but this is what happens when you take blocks of the vote for granted and this is what political disruption looks
I don't know that climate change deniers are denying realities despite acknowledging realities like date but they deny the data. It might me semantics but they just deny climate change rather than deal with the reality.
I don't get the evangelicals and city point - but Trump won their conservative vote despite pussygate and being married/divorced and committing infidelity. He unified various coalitions while adding a lot of member labor.
Islam and the left is most glaringly highlighted in the Ben Affleck spot. Affleck described Harris as racist which is a liberal talking point but Islam isn't a race. Affleck didn't even make sense. You can both want to eat sandwiches and kill non-believers.
It isn't being an Islamaphobe to acknowledge that if someone were to go on MSNBC and burn a religious book or draw a certain cartoon, there is only one faith where they would have to feat and where they would have to plan for the inevitable threat of violent reprisal.
Trey Parker snd Matt Stone had to hide and that is a South Park episode that they can't air again - all the while Christianity, Scientology and Mormonism can be freely lampooned.
