Art direction is an ambiguous title. It's either a traditional Ad agency direction (more concept driven) or Post-production agency (hands on design making, focusing on craft). Pick one.

I’ve got 2 years in creative agencies and 3 years of freelance (5 years in total).
If your applying for art director gigs in advertising then those technical skills don’t really do much since CDs want to see conceptual skills. That’s what’s separates and art director from a designer.
