Like, I feel like the reason it might bother me so much is selfishness (trying to figure my feelings out). If only a handfull of people, or lets say half, are actually restraining themselves and taking limits to flatten the curve, all these other people going out and having fun are still benefiting of us outside the margins anyway. Not only that, but if there happens to be another big wave of contagion, it will be bc of these people and it will make lockdowns last longer and maybe become more often....

like

Wave 2 is the dumbass wave. We will have the last laugh. They can go get us that much closer to the elusive heard immunity and assume all the risk. We'll catch 'em later .... I just feel for the health care workers :-(

I’m not falling for the right wing hype I’m taking precautions. I’m not trying to get this thing or be in the hospital.

like

Lol what right wing hype? Just don’t be in a confined space with someone for prolonged periods, and make sure everyone has a mask and maintains distance and you’re fine. Odds of getting this outside are very very very small. It’s not what cnn is making it to be where you need to wash grocery bags when you bring them home (surface contamination also not a high probability of getting it)

like

No.

like

You can manage your own risk regardless of the state and local decision. Keep to small groups you trust. Wear a mask when shopping. Keep distance.

I am not returning to a “new normal” life until around one month after opening. In my own personal opinion that will give me some perspective of whether this is truly winding down. We need to start getting out at some point, but many people just don’t follow rules and that’s making me be more cautious. It is like driving a car, you may be an excellent and cautious driver, but you just need one drunk asshole to screw you and others

like

Trader Joe’s in NYC is actually kind of nice now that it isn’t really busy inside and you have more space without the crazy wraparound lines inside. I hope they keep it this way

I want to be an HR generalist, but I am afraid I may have to take a step back in order to do so. I’ve been in recruiting and the talent management sector of HR for 5+ years. Now, I want to step into a generalist role, but realize I lack some aspects of experience that I maybe could have gotten as an HR coordinator. Do I need to take a step back/laterally move before becoming a generalist? I have my PHR. Thank you!

I started my professional career in the fall and have only been wfh since. Looks like wfh till September. I have struggled with a lot online: onboarding, relationship building / networking, and motivation. In fact, I am feeling really burnt out in the past two months. Who else has begun work online and is struggling to get into their role? What have you done to overcome the wfh situation? For experienced PMs, what advice do you have for us who have only known wfh this year?

I am 38, and the first baby came after two miscarriages so my chances are not great (especially chances of a planned age gap) But it doesn’t hurt to hope 😊
