NYC is requiring proof of vaccination for all indoor activities. That’s absolutely nuts (and I’m vaccinated)!

I am 100% for the vaccine and believe people should get it. We should educate as much as possible and make an effort to get as many shots in arms. However on the broader context I am getting nervous how willing we are to support restrictions on freedom. I think these types of restrictions are a very slippery slope that we need to be very measured on how we implement.

likehelpfulfunny

@Deloitte7, that train left the station: biometrics for global entry, gps on your device… welcome to the world. Proof of vaccine during a global pandemic is just common sense.

We lost so many people to virus cause people cared soooo much about putting a cloth over their mouths and masks were “restricting their FrEEdoms”. Doing this for the greater good and health of society, is a win. Over this freedom debate when it’s in a pandemic and government has been trying to get people to do the right thing for everyone’s health

It’s discrimination and unconstitutional. Weather you agree with vaccine on or not it’s an individual choice.

Please please stay at Deloitte. We don’t make stupid, ignorant statements at PwC. Do some research before you speak. You are just wrong.

For those who say this is “an overreach of government”, did none of you attend public school where you were required to get vaccinations? Don’t want them - don’t go to public school. This is the same thing, and the legality of requiring vaccines at the state level (within reason) has been upheld per the Supreme Court since 1905.

The best parallel example I’ve seen to this is smoking - your body your choice as in you are allowed to smoke even though it’s dangerous to your health, but you can’t put other people’s health at risk, so we regulate where you can smoke (not inside, on airplanes etc). With COVID, you can choose not to get vaccinated and put yourself at risk, but you shouldn’t be able to put other people at risk too (since unvaccinated are more likely to get sick and pass it on).

Yeah D3 new studies do not show that. You either have horrible reading comprehension or are purposely spreading misinformation. Do better / plz fix.

@AP1, I’m glad to hear you love NY. Have confidence, friend. I would argue tourism will resume far more quickly bc people know how responsible NY is. The ones who don’t agree/aren’t aligned, would probably not be tourists in NY anyways. Don’t worry. It’ll be back: Just like London, Paris and Sydney will be back. Have patience but have faith! 🥰

C1 and now the unvaccinated are taking up ICU beds meant for non-COVID patients, spreading the virus, and dying. The patients are younger than in the last phase. Because the virus keeps spreading, it keeps mutating.

Stopping the spread at the source is critical. How do you stop it? That is no secret. How do you keep people from dying from COVID?That’s no secret either. Not everyone can get the vaccine. I’ve no sympathy for those who are selfish and only care about how it affects themselves. I’ve no sympathy for those who put their personal ambitions about the health of others.

These are the folks who made it into the news for this reason. There’s no good reason why the list is growing.

-Dick Farrel, right wing source of disinformation died from COVID.

-Scott Apley, TX GOP leader, recently died from COVID.

-Stephen Harmon, more known for being outspoken anti-vaxxer, died from COVID.

-Curt Carpenter, thought it was a hoax….

All of a sudden conservative show hosts are doing an about face and are finally urging people to get the vaccine.

Re masks, this is a simplified breakdown.

Wish everyone did this. Make life miserable for the unvaccinated so we can get back to normal.

Also vaccinated, but I definitely think this is an overreach of government

Is it also an overreach to require vaccination for schools for the past decades?

I was pretty shocked actually but ultimately support it. The indoor customer dining is major. And he’s also urging private businesses to do the same. As he’s a lame duck he doesn’t care about the political backlash

K4 - weekly testing would be fine by me via home kits. We don’t need perfection. Wearing a mask in all aspects of life is not an acceptable solution equivalent to the current risk profiles. This is especially true in areas where the caseload is fine and local governments are clearly over reaching (eg Boston).

This is great. I’m all for making life less convenient for those choosing to be unvaccinated. It’s really just returning the favor at this point.

likesmartfunny

Good. It’s about time we start taking this seriously. The only way more people will get vaccinated is if they can’t do all the things they want. Cash prizes didn’t work. Free weed and beer didn’t work. You don’t want to get vaccinated? Fine, but there’s consequences

likesmartuplifting

Also vaccinated, don't care too much, but yea its a little absurd. Isn't the whole problem with the delta variant that vaccinated people are spreading it at similar rates? Sooo what is this solving exactly?

likesmartfunny

Pwc2 do you have a link to the study because I think you’re referring to the CDC one that looked at Ptown without considering it was twink week and then bear week… fun fact, there is zero mention of this in the study.

Plot twist - 85% of cases were male. Whatever were they doing 😂

I really don’t think there’s a chance that the SCOTUS overturns Roe. I would hope this affirming decision further slams the door on states trying to legislate what happens in a doctor’s office between a pregnant woman and her doctor. There’s always a chance this swings the other way, but this SCOTUS so far has a non partisan approach, regardless of what the media has portrayed. The panic seems unwarranted.

I got a mortgage prequalification (down payment 15%) with an interest rate of 2.62 and APR of 2.764. What does the higher APR mean and is this a competitive offer? My initial prequalification from the same bank (when I had indicated a down payment of 20%) was 2.62 and APR 2.673. I guess I’m a bit confused on the role of the APR, I usually hear ppl focusing on the interest rate. Thanks!
