The Sheraton Waikiki appears to be more family oriented. We stayed at the Royal Hawaiian (Marriott Luxury Collection Resort) and loved it. Great location walking to restaurants and on the best part of the beach. They also have a members lounge for those with status.
I had an amazing stay at the Royal Hawaiian which is next door to the Sheraton and shares pool/beach access— so my vote is for the Sheraton
I haven’t stayed at the Sheraton but the Moana Surfrider is pretty cool. I have status with Marriott and had access to the spa for free. You can book services but they also have this private space for status members.
Google moana surfrider spa and look at the pictures. You’ll be able to see what the area looks like but again it’s not including the actual services but the area is open to you. It has the lockers you can put your stuff in, nice gel sandals, hot tub, sauna, small snacks, chairs to sit in that face the ocean. I’m going back in a few weeks but i haven’t gone since fall 2019 and it was fine when i went
I liked the Sheraton Waikiki. Location was great, beach was nice, main pool was freezing. Watch out for sea urchins by the rocks. If you go during a holiday, it will be packed with kids, but there is a adult only waterfall edge pool with the best view on Waikiki. Restaurants were decently good, but resort prices. I was not happy with the lounger/umbrella situations. Everything cost money or was packed. I wouldn’t pay holiday prices for it again, but would pay reg rates for it.
