Obviously investment strategies differ, but where do you draw the line on not choosing a fund based on the expense ratio whether for an index fund and also for a managed fund?

For me, I only invest in index funds. I could be wrong but I don’t assume any fund manager knows more than any of the others, so I just stick with a handful of index funds.

like

That's why you do both and then you will never be "wrong" again 😂. I'm not advocating one way or another, I just don't think it's black & white

If you're thinking long term, the only aspects that you can choose are expense and turnover ratios. Hence, always choose based on those and choose a diversified market index.
Short to mid-term - performance history (not a guarantee but an indicator nonetheless) can be factored in when selecting.
Bear in mind, over a long term (2 decades or so) actively managed funds hardly beat the index funds with rock-bottom expense and turnover ratios.

Just got engaged 😊😊. Need some advice. We both have two homes already.
1. Is it always better to get a third home ?
2. If yes, is better to rent out or sell the other two homes? Both homes mortgages are $1250 & $1450 and 1500 sqft & 2200 sqft respectively. Both homes are 3 bedrooms.
3. If we are getting a third home what price range is recommended?

We are based in Houston and HHI is going to be $380,000(including bonus & rsu) & $300,000 base. We are 27F & 30 M and no kids yet.

Hi fishes,
I'm 22 and planning to take a life insurance. I'm comparing all policies and max life seems attractive as it has good claim settlement ratio and less premiums. But there is no office near our area. My worry is that if there is a need to claim in future, it can be done all online by my nominee? Is it recommended to take policy online in any platform(like policybazaar)?
Other options I'm considering are SBI life, HDFC life which offices are available in my locality.

Hi Everyone,
Need some valid pros and cons for Value Momentum in regards to (WLB, Work options, HR Policies, Onsite opportunity etc)

My firm requires 200 hours bills per month, now they have been cracking down on us to bill 50 per week. I’m so exhausted. I absolutely hate this place. Insurance defense wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for these insane requirements. We also have to do update charts by weekly for every single one of our cases. All for a measly $85k while the firm makes thousands and thousands per week from each attorney. You only get a bonus for meeting the billable requirement, only to end up with about $2200.
