Wouldn’t put FTI in same camp as the other two.
Alix and A&M both respected firms, Alix for me the more prestigious of the two.
A&M and Alix are both great firms with top reputations in the turnaround / rx space. I interviewed with both ~ 5 years ago and found them to be very similar in terms of caliber of professionals and opportunity to work on high profile deal flow. The culture/vibe at both were distinctly different and my decision ultimately came down to fit.
PS - Kearney is another great shop, while not rx focused, have heard good things re ops and performance improvement and transformation.
Cheers.
Stop calling them houses
Yah but if anybody is the super erudite know all the theory people it’s BCG. They’re for sure not slytherin despite being green
Well they don’t call it BBM
The answer is Deloitte. It’s always Deloitte.
Stop ranking things
No
Stop saying no
No
Only the sorting hat can tell you that...
Why Bain before BCG? Hasn’t it always been the opposite?
As someone who used to buy these services BCG, Accenture, PwC depending what we were doing always gave things we could use, sod is Wyman and Mercer. McKinsey was overpaid for 2 slides that were usually 10-15 years outdated.
Blaine and Deloitte never once made it past initial screen as neither had anything to offer.
Having competed against these firms both here and prior to my corporate tenure the same holds.
One is a 🤡
The second is also a 🤡
The third is a 👹 that is largely responsible for the destruction of the American middle class and the murder of dissidents living in dictatorships worldwide.
I'll let you guess which is which
Can confirm, Deloitte guilty as charged
Doesn’t matter
FTI does more on creditor work. Def level below A&M and AP.
I have done 5+ company side and 5+ creditor side deals and I’d say that your explanation generalizes creditor work. The senior lender deals are generally very complex with syndicated debt that needs consensus across 10+ holders in the single loan tranche each with different views and internal limitations. You’re directly responsible for wrangling very sophisticated hedge funds.
My personal view is that debtor side is better at junior level as you build and understand the very detailed analyses but creditor side is much more interesting at senior level as you only with the strategic elements and review the other sides analyses.
Per your own description, you add value to debtor side because they don’t know anything. Pretty easy to add value there. Creditor side are the most sophisticated financial professionals in the world and you are responsible for advising them directly. The expectations are generally a lot higher.
Accenture is greater than all 3. #brsvethefuture
Lol
Rising Star
Why ... just why? 🤦🏻♂️
Ok so in answer to the ‘why’ question, I think a ranking offers a view of strength of brand. That strength of brand, regardless of how built up, either through results and referrals or just brilliant marketing, directly correlates to the perceived value offered, without getting under the skin. Brand is the first way anyone perceives value - but perhaps should have added ‘on first interaction’. I’m not talking about a CFO who’s got a great relationship with a BCG principal and wouldn’t look elsewhere.
BCG, MCK
Blaine has been trying to sell itself for years
You mean 1. Deloitte or Harvard of consulting world 2. Others...
You meant BBM?
